Perhaps if we hadn't been overcharged 40 pounds for a 2-day stay (we paid for a premium room but were given a classic room) with no reasonable explanation why, I would have rated our stay as average as opposed to poor. Our room was exceedingly small, neither bedside lamp worked, there were no facecloths or complimentary toiletries provided, and the... more

This was our first visit to the hotel and we stayed 2 nights. Our room was a really good size but we did spot some rooms that were a lot smaller. The beds were oldfashioned and in keeping with the style of the hotel but the mattresses were in need of replacing. It was really hot when we were there... more

Arrived for a 3 night stay as on business in the north. The room was totally overpriced with limited facilities. The food was ok unlike the alcohol which for £3.10 per pint was dreadful. I was approched during the day by a Manager who made me cringe with his obvious fake hospitality speech. The guy had no manners and looked... more

Our visit to Beamish Hall was for my husband's 60th Birthday!! We booked DBB for 3 nights via the telephone and straight away felt we would be going to a welcoming hotel and were not disapppointed. The drive leading up to the Hall was very impressive and we were met in a friendly and professional manner. We had booked a... more

I stayed here with my girlfriend for one night on Valentines day. I was attending a friend’s wedding at this venue which was the reason. It cost us £180 B&B for one night. I expected to pay over the odds because of the date but this really took the mickey. We got a very small room (about a metre space... more

We booked to stay here for a wedding that we were attending. It was booked months in advance, directly through Beamish Hall. Unfortunately after 3.5hrs in the car with our 2 yr old we were told that there was no room booked under our name & the hotel was fully booked due to weddings (Obviously, because thats why we were... more

We stayed for just one night for a family wedding and had a lovely time. The staff were faultless, the room spotless and the food very good. Its a very romantic hotel to be married in and I know the bride and groom were very pleased to have chosen Beamish Hall. My only gripe was that rooms were allocated as... more

Stayed one Saturday night so inevitably hotel dominated by wedding parties - OK but be aware of staff being busy. Our room was a joke at this price - we had to move a chair to use the wardrobe. Also, be aware of their stringent cancellation policy - they hold £50 deposit even if you cancel over a month before... more

On arrival, this hotel seemed ideal in terms of position. Unfortunately, it turned out that this position is terribly abused. The countryside is magnificent, the walks and the wildlife are beautiful. Unfortunately, this hotel excudes noise, people screeching on rope activities, A chap shouting out loud over a microphone about birds of prey, in itself an interesting topic, but shouted... more

I stayed at Beamish Hall with my husband to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. We were married at Beamish Hall and celebrating our anniversary there did not dissapoint. We booked a romantic package, which included dinner, breakfast and a bottle of champagne. The room we were in was beautiful- four poster bed, double jacuzzi bath. Dinner was gorgeous, food excellent,... more
