I think we must have stayed the same weekend as another reviewer, as it was snowing and the boiler was playing up.. however the heater provided was fine and the radiator was working by morning. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had two very enjoyable meals in the restaurant and breakfast was lovely. All in all we felt our... More

After reading the reviews we were expecting the best. However, although the food and beers were good, the night was spoilt by the noise coming from the bar area. We left the bar at 1130 and were the last ones to leave. About 1200 the noise began – both loud music and the sound of pool balls until 0430 didn’t... More

We booked on a wowcher deal. The room was clean and tidy so was the bathroom. We had lovely meals both lunch and dinner and the breakfast was very good too. The staff were efficient and friendly and made us and our dog very welcome.

Stayed 2 nights but only ate 1 night.Arrived and shown to room 6,suspicions arose immediately when we saw a heater in the room which we switched on straight away as it was snowing outside and the room was cold were told the radiators would come on at 4 but they did not so we had to go down and say... We stayed for two nights mid week, all the staff were friendly and welcoming the food was really very good and we are looking forward to coming back soon. I'd have no hesitation in recommending it. Close to High Force waterfall and the Pennine way there are so many walks its a beautiful area and one of the forgotten dales.

Stayed here 2nd Jan for 2 nights for £67.50 inc breakfast. Hotel is in a lovely area and right in the centre of the small town. From arriving to leaving nothing was to much trouble and all staff so polite and welcoming. Rooms were nice and stylish with a great bathroom. The food was delicious and even if you don't... More

We were made to feel welcome from the very start of our trip. The owner and staff are lovely and friendly, with a stunning selection of French food in the restaurant. We had the Beef bourguignon and it was the best we've ever tasted. Very good wine selection and variation of starters, with the home made pesto being a big... More

We stayed at this hotel for one night because it was booked up after this. The room was good with a lovely bathroom. Lots of hot water, clean and comfortable bed. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The bar was very comfortable, cosy and warm with good beer. We ate in the French Restaurant and had beef bourgignon -... More

We stayed here for a two-night break, purchased via Living Social, for the lowly sum of £79. On arrival we discovered the owner to be from Normandy, a particularly favourite destination of ours, so we had an instant rapport with him. We had room 6, mainly because of its lack of stairs(our request). It was on the small side, but... More

We stayed for one night only mid-week (Thurs.) on a cold and damp November day.We arrived to a warm greeting and given room 1 mentioned by other reviewers. This is not a big room but it was warm and comfortable, and clean. Dinner was a massive delight; superbly cooked French style food, nicely presented without undue elaboration so beloved of... More
