We stayed for two nights October 2014 - this was our 3rd stay and again, we had a lovely time. We first stayed here around a year ago and haven't been disappointed on any of our stays. Great hosts, lovely clean rooms, with a 'boutique' edge and excellent food too. Great prices - fab village within an hours driving from... More

Enjoyed a 2 night stay here in October. Lovely surroundings in a nice quiet little village but with plenty of amenities. The hotel had a nice friendly atmosphere and the rooms were modern and nicely decorated if a little rough around the edges. Only sampled their breakfast but it was fab. There was noise on the Saturday night till around... More

We went to The Forresters on the recommendation of friends. We were not disappointed. The dining room was clean and well decorated, service was efficient and friendly without being overpowering The menu was varied offering some French dishes as well as old favourites . The food was excellent, freshly cooked, well presented , hot and tasty .The portion sizes were... More

A large party (14) of us stayed the one night fort a sporting day. We had a room with a 'split level', en-suite, bathroom but all very adequate. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Great service for a superb dinner. Breakfast in the morning I can only describe as heroic. I would recommend this to anyone.

Tucked away in a beautiful part of the country is this absolute gem. Originally two pubs knocked into one its old and quirky but it has a great selection of beers both local real ales and continental, wine also. The rooms are good enough some apparently have the en suite bathroom on a different level although we didnt have one... More

Quirky old building in a beautiful part of the country. It is the second visit to the Forresters and was equally as good as the first. The room although small was adequate and very clean with adequate supply of tea and coffee. The staff were very efficient and welcoming and the high standards are still maintained by Frank and the team.... More

This is the second time myself and my husband have stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and both times the food has been exquisite. Presentation, flavour, choice all brilliant. Shame the waitress seemed like she had more important things to do with her time than look after us though. The quirky room, with bathroom on the upstairs level was... More

First time here we were impressed immediately with our congenial French host Frank. We had lunch on Saturday from the bar meals menu and were so impressed with the quality of the food, we returned for Sunday lunch, passing on traditional English Sunday roast for something a little more Gallic. We weren't disappointed the chef is Madame Frank and she makes... Despite the hotel being almost empty we were given a room over the bar , at first I thought they were using a PA but no, the floor is that thin you can hear actual sentences which seem to be amplified Shabby is how I would describe the room , the roof had leaked in the bathroom leaving stains on...
