We have just stayed 2 nights and wanted to say how much we enjoyed our stay. Lynda is a wonderful host who cooks a very tasty breakfast - local sausages and 2 eggs if wanted set us up for the day. Both rooms spotless and tastefully decorated. We are definitely planning a return stay.

A spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and equipped B&B. We stayed for one night when in the area for my partner's work, and found a very warm welcome (with a pot of tea and biscuits) from our delightful hostess, Lynda. The en suite room was perfect - plenty of storage, well laid out, comfy beds, amazing shower - and breakfast was... More

We have stayed at The Old Barn twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed each stay there. The quality of the accommodation is excellent. The breakfasts well made and locally sourced. Linda is a font of knowledge of the area. The hot drink drinks and cookies on arrival are a nice touch. I felt like home, thanks. Alan and Jill S.

My wife and I were walking The Pennine Way and we couldn't have picked a more nicer place to stay in Middleton. Lynda was the perfect host who really looked after us and even sourced a bandage for my wife's sore knee. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the breakfast was perfect. Middleton itself is worth a visit and we... More

We had booked two nights at The Old Barn to correspond with our friend's wedding. Upon arrival we were treated to a hot drink, cookies and a friendly face - the perfect remedy after a long journey. The rooms were excellently maintained and the communal area was very welcoming. Our bed was extremely comfortable and the showers were a revelation.... More

We spent 2 night at the Old Barn & could happily have stayed longer. Choice & quality of the breakfast was excellent, the bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in. Room, including en-suite, was exceptionally clean.

We were made to feel very welcome here for our night's stay on the Pennine Way. A proper pot of tea biscuits and a chat on arrival and wonderful rooms. Excellent big shower. Great choice for breakfast including porridge made to your liking. Lynda as a walker herself knew what was needed and got it right. Very central for pubs... More

We spent one night booking last minute. The B&B had everything we needed, including laundry service and a packed lunch for the following day. Nice to have alternatives for breakfast. Only minor downside we couldnt use the wifi in our room.

I spent a very pleasant rest day here on the Pennine Way. I was aiming at a little bit of luxury in a small town and that is what this very central B&B provided. The room was lovely and clean and I could have hugged the owner when she presented me with the option of scrambled eggs with salmon for... More

I stayed here on the 18th May 2013 whilst walking the Pennine Way, on arrival I was met by Lynda with a wonderfully refreshing pot of tea and biscuits. She took the time to enjoy a cup with me and we had a lovely chat. My room was at the front of the building and gave me a view over... More
