Just stayed in the burythorpe house, and it truly was perfect. it was in an idillyic setting, and the views were great. went with my partner for a romantic weekend away, and this was a great choice. the hotel has a very relaxed intimate feel about it, from the service to the hotel itself. we stayed in the jervaulx room,... more

We have just returned from a simply amazing weekend at Burythorpe House. The rooms are clean, relaxing and cosy with great views over some of England's best countryside. Breakfast was a gastronomical delight and everything was fresh, local and cooked to perfection. We had an evening meal in the local pub (a short walk away) and once again the food... more

Perfect location, food excellent, lovely atmosphere. Service - never had such an excellent level of service. The ladies there have it down to a tee - a very relaxed environment, but nothing too much trouble. They obviously work hard to make the hotel seem so relaxed. The rooms (We stayed in the Kirkham - very nice) are a great standard,... more

We stayed at Burythorpe House to have a night away and wind down after Christmas and New Year and must say that we found all aspects of our stay perfect - the welcome, the room, the service, the staff, the food, the swimming pool.... I'd certainly recommend the hotel to anyone wanting to take time out! We're even contemplating holding... more

This is the worst experiance I have ever had in a hotel, it promised so much and delivered so little. The stay was spoilt by the standard of rooms, not nice and cheaply decorated, paint peeling off. The terrible food at the hotel ( certainly trying to be somthing its not) followed by terrible food at the local pub (... more

A friend and I decided we needed to escape the christmas 'hurly burly' for one night. We stumbled upon this hidden gem when searching through one of those last min web sites. Little gem it was ,from checking in to check out we felt so at home. No stuffy staff here nothing is a bother. We were shown to our... more

Stayed at Burythorpe house on the 1st Nov for my partner’s birthday. The room (Rievaulx) was traditional, spacious and very clean. The staff were very friendly and down to earth. The food was absolutely fantastic and surpassed my expectation, being better than some Michelin star restaurants we have ate at. Only the day before we stayed in a 4 star,... more

My wife and I stayed at Burythorpe House for 1 night as a treat for our 15th anniversary. I chose one of the luxury rooms (Jervaulx) on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis. The hotel is not easy to find (I would recommend a satnav) but worth it once you arrive. From the outside the building is impressive. You sign... more

We spent a blissful night in this hotel. In the Kirkham suite which was both modern and cosy. The dinner, bed and breakfast deal we had was excellent value. The restaurant food was out of this world. The staff were very pleasant and we will definitely go back!! more

We loved this place. We chose this hotel for our tenth wedding anniversary and it was a really special place to spend a special occasion. The staff were very attentive and friendly, the room was spacious, clean and extremely comfortable, and the evening meal was genuinely one of the best we've ever had. It's also in a beautiful and peaceful... more
