I'm sorry, But after reading the previous review I needed to post this. I have been working 250 miles away from home for the last 3 months and have been staying at the waggon and horses. I have nothing but praise for the place. The food is amazing, the staff are very efficient, friendly and can't do enough for you.... More

We have been here for dinner a few times over the years when leaving Manchester for London on the A34 and it has actually been okay. This time because our usual place to stay was all booked up so we decided to stay here, what a mistake. When we got there the hallway to our room smelt stale and musty... More

Good food, reasonably priced. Had a much better meal here than when we went to a much more pretentious establishment elsewhere in Cheshire. The lamb shank was nicely cooked, would recommend. Décor needs some tlc, but would rather it stays as is, rather than it becomes like some of the other over-rated places in Cheshire. A hidden gem.

We stayed for a wedding at Sandhole Oak Barn. The pub was very cosy with open log burning fire, the food was amazing, evening meal & breakfast (home made sausages)! The B & B room was lovely, very clean, warm & cozy, the staff were very helpful and attentive, would definitely recommend a stay here.

My husband and I stayed at the Waggon and Horses the night before a family wedding. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was cosy could do with a lick of paint and redecoration a bit tried. As we like to sleep with the window open we found that the main road kept us awake with the through... More

I stayed here with my daughter and my sister in July 2014. My daughter and I had a twin room and my sister had a double to herself. Her room was excellent, having been redecorated fairly recently. My room was also great with everything you would need for a short stay. The rooms were very clean and the staff were... More

This location is perfect if you're attending a wedding at Sandhole Barn opposite. There's a handy footpath leading from the venue to the pub which means you don't have to walk on the road. Unfortunately didn't get to sample the food or beers as we only stayed for one night but I'm assured it's as good as it looks! Comfortable... More

Only popped in for a drink before when we have been out driving around. Six adults and one child (Aged 8) went for a meal, all of our group thoroughly enjoyed the meal and relaxing evening. The restaurant is light and spacious, plenty of choice on the menu and specials board the food was delicious (Homemade not frozen crap) and... More

We stayed here on 16th May 2014. It is a pub and attached is another building which is the B&B. Clean rooms. Bathroom is converted to a disabled one so convenient for all to use. Very Old. Could do with a lick of paint and new carpets etc. Lovely Couple who run it. Breakfast closes at 9:30 which we missed... More
