Pub is excellent inside and out, great outdoor garden patio area, by the canal, great selection of beer and food is good, normally go two or three times when staying with family in the area. Very well worth the visit both as couples or family. Never been disappointed at this place

We went on a 12 night cycle tour to the north of Scotland and stayed in the Queens Head of one night. The accommodation was excellent, clean and modern and it felt like we were staying in a holiday cottage. we were the only people staying in the annexe and had full use of a kitchen which was perfect for... We had dinner in this charming local pub. Food great and service even better. Good range of beers and ales and a really nice atmosphere which is so lacking in many pubs these days. We didn't stay in the hotel so can't comment on the accommodation but if the service in the bar is anything to go by then the... More

Great location for Congleton Train Station (30-40 mins to Manchester)- a very short walk away. We stayed for 2 nights over a weekend. The room was clean, freshly decorated and fairly well equipped for a short stay - though somewhere to sit would have been more useful than the extra single camp bed provided. The website says this is "Bed... More

The accommodation is contained in an annex attached to the pub. The annex comprises three good sized rooms neutrally decorated and spotlessly clean with spacious bathrooms. Breakfast is a self service affair but there was plenty for us including a well stocked fruit bowl. The pub next door serves a good selection of cask beer and gas propelled lagers. The... More

We had lunch at the Queen's Head on Wednesday, 14th January 2015. We ordered the roast as we assumed that it would be pretty much prepared and fresh. We waited over an hour for the food to arrive and then had to send it back as the vegetables were barely warm. Another ten minute wait before the meal came back.... More

Stayed here over Christmas.for one night. Good value for an ensuitee double room in a cottage adjoining the pub. Two more rooms upstairs and access to a kitchen/diner,providing bread, butter, jams, cereal and milk for a basic breakfast. This suited us as we were eating out at lunchtime. But you could get a full breakfast in the pub if preferred. All very clean... More

This is the second time we have stayed at the Queen's Head in Congleton when visiting family and we definitely recommend as a place to stay. The accommodation is very clean and modern inside with lovely bathrooms. The cottage is next to the pub and very quiet. We loved that we could just help ourselves to cereals, toast and tea... More

I have been using this pub for about four years. Never once had a bad pint or dissapointing meat. The Landlord wont be found behind the bar, he's ususally sitting with the customers. I'm sure he considers himself to be quality control. Well he's doing a fantastic job. Linda actually runs the pub and must be one of the most... More
