My son and I stumbled upon Glenarch just as we were giving up hope of finding accommodations for the night. Our host was very accommodating and friendly. The room very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and a great way to start the day out. My only regret is that we couldnt stay longer. I would highly recommend to... More

Stayed for a long weekend and was made very welcome at this very quiet peaceful guest house. Easy access to Edinburgh on the park and ride and also regular buses from the main road <only £2.70 return> you have no parking problems. A short walk to Esbank is a very nice pub with reasonable meals and good beer. Just the... More

My girlfriend and I rang the afternoon we needed accommodation and the owner was great to deal with. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the property. We met the owner as soon as we arrived and he had us sorted quickly. He was helpful and friendly. Breakfast in the morning was really good. Definitely stay... More

Lovely welcome from Mary who showed us to our room, cooked the most marvellous breakfast in the morning and couldn't have been more helpful or obliging. The house is in beautiful surroundings and the room we had was small but adequate for our needs and with a comfortable bed in which we had a peaceful night's sleep. There were only... More

I stayed in Glenarch House for 5 days in December on business and would happily return on leisure. The hosts were excellent who made sure my stay was very comfortable. My room had a combination shower and the bedding was high quality. I would highly recommend the breakfast.

The Glenarch is a beautiful stone building which used to be, I think, a Post Stop. The owners have added on a modern section in the back with five guest rooms and a pleasant dining area overlooking the River Esk (wildlife often sighted). We could not have had a kinder reception. Both host and hostess (Maureen and Victor, I hope... More

Stayed here last summer due to a friend's wedding at the nearby Melville Castle Hotel and loved the whole weekend and ambience at Glenarch. Also took advantage of the spa facilities at Dalhousie Castle which was a great hangover cure after the wedding reception. The location and tranquility of Glenarch is unbeatable with a huge garden through which runs the... More
