This hotel is old and in need of a major renovation. It is rated as a 4 star and I would not give more than 2 stars. Rooms are large and spacious but very tired. Our traveling companions had encrusted bird poop on their lampshade. Our bath was crusty at best. I would not recommend until necessary updates are done. more

A little alarmed on arrival at hotel appearance, and was glad we were only there for one night.Boat hotel certainly needs major refurbishment ! Carpet on staircase worn and dangerous. It is described by the scottish tourist board as being a 4 star hotel so we thought the price of £120 for one night including breakfast seemed reasonable.
