I booked my room late and arrived in the dark. First impression was of a lovely rural hotel. Looked tight for parking but there was an additional park to rear. Inside lovely and reception staff fantastic. Single room lovely, all new fittings and en suite. Very clean. Bar/sitting area really pleasant. Had tomato/olive fusilli for £10 which was tasty and... We were given a lovely, warm welcome by the Irish receptionist. The hotel has a lovely ambience. The food is of a very high standard. Our room was incredibly large and tastefully furnished. The hotel was experiencing a few problems with wifi on the day we arrived. It was superb to watch the steam train arriving at and departing from... More

3 star rating that would easily be 4/5 if the rooms were better maintained/updated. Aside from rooms, the hotel was great. Nothing but pleasant interactions with the staff. Common areas were great for congregating with friends. Restaurant served a decent traditional scottish breakfast. Bar was well-appointed and stayed open as long as you liked. Perfect location to explore the Inverness... More

We were doing a whisky tour and spend a night here. The food was good, the service not. At dinner the waiter did not even know what was on the plate he wa just serving. Although we ordered the breakfast the evening before, they were not able to deliver it in time. We had to leave without breakfast as we... More

Carpets in the halls & bedrooms are threadbare & there is a hole you could climb thru!! under the door in the dining... More

Well I cant believe after reading some of these reviews what people are saying about this hotel. I booked this hotel via hotel connections , It was for our wedding anniversary. When we arrived the lovely Irish receptionist greeting us and wished us happy anniversary. We were in room 210, four poster bed, with dressing gowns on the bed, rolled... More

My sister and I spent a long weekend at the Boat and, in general, we really enjoyed it. The head of the bar staff was a wee bit stressed on the Saturday night, but they were extremely busy. On Sunday, before we left for the day, we booked a table in the restaurant only to be told when we went... More

We stumbled upon the Boat Hotel by accident and loved it so much, we stayed an extra two days! Our rooms were #2 and #3 and seemed to be recently renovated as the bed, bathroom, carpet and deck were all clean and in great shape. I didn't get a chance to peek into any of the other rooms but these... More

We stayed for 2 nights and we found the hotel to be very dated and slightly old fashioned smelling, although the deluxe room we stayed in was lovely with it's own garden terrace area, but I think if we had stayed in the main hotel, we'd have been even more disappointed. The food is very good, but sadly the kitchen... More

The hotel is in a nice location and has tremendous potential but is let down by being understaffed and serving 'hot' roast meals that are cold. Room was very small and the walls are very thin. They have severe staff problems and the reception gives you little information when you check in.
