Second time at this hotel and loved it as much as the first time. Great ambience, fantastic location, brilliant food and rooms clean and inviting. Only downside was that the staff in the bar/ restaurant area appeared a bit stressed. However, this in no way spoiled our stay and we will be back again in the future.

Stayed at the Boat Hotel for the second year running and once more we were not disappointed. the accommodation has if anything improved, the staff were very helpful indeed and the food was outstanding. This is truly a gem of a hotel that is close to Aviemore, but remote enough to feel totally relaxed. We had a great stay nice... More

We booked on line at the last minute so were open to what was available at the time. When checking in the lass at front office was very helpful and so were the bar staff. We ordered a meal - soup was good - fish and chips were disgusting. Brown chips swimming in oil. When we complained, the manager appeared... More

I have visited this hotel on a regular basis for 20+ years and have followed its ups and downs. Sadly, it is currently well in a down. Tired, lacklustre, empty and still no effective wifi service. So dated. No longer any excuse for this. An overall impression that no one cares.

We were a group of 7, everyone had a great dinner, mine was a little underseasoned but that was easily rectified. The staff were all friendly and provided a warm welcome. Thanks to everyone involved for a good dinner.

We were at the hotel for our first wedding anniversary this weekend. My wife was a little anxious after reading trip advisor comments, however there was no need. We were in room 102 and it was lovely. The food was fantastic, perhaps 1 negative was the drinks were expensive £26.50 for a bottle of white, and £4.50 for a pint.... More

An old and poorly maintained hotel, with some new rooms that are poorly designed and virtually without ventilation (garden rooms). The hotel has charm, but is borderline due to its many faults such as: extremely limited internet access, inexperienced waiting staff, poor maintenance, lack of lounge, unpredictable food quality ( although some of it was very good).

Last minute booking to attend a family funeral we arrived late with a very warm welcome from the friendly receptionist. We stayed in a Garden room in the more modern part of the hotel. On first appearance the room looked lovely - spacious, huge bed and a good bathroom. On closer inspection however there were a few things that result... More

Myself and family went to The Boat for Afternoon tea as we were staying close byo n holiday and wanted to support local businesses. Unfortunately it was extremely disappointing. There were 3 sandwiches each, an apple tart that had just come out of the fridge, some sponge cake that looked undercooked and had been disguised with icing sugar, and loads... More
