Exceeded our expectations! 11 of us hired Balebarn and Beech Lodge for 3 nights over New Year and we had a lovely time. Ian was very helpful and welcoming. The accommodation was very comfortable, spacious and tastefully furnished. Extremely comfortable beds. Great bathrooms. Fully equipped kitchen. Very efficient wood burning stove. Great views through the huge windows (despite the constant... More

And you'll be very welcome! Thanks for your lovely comments. The woodburner is great at this time of year isn't it, especially if the weather is a bit unkind. And it's always good to hear the beds are comfortable. Ian and Maggie More

Needed to find a place for my wife's 40th birthday. There was 19 of us. So we booked out Balebarn and two other lodges at Wheatland. It needed to be nice, family friendly and good value. Our stay at wheatland was. Thankfully the weather held out on the Saturday, that we arrived. I was expecting something a little bit more... More

Spending time here is a great opportunity to reconnect with nature and discover this beautiful part of Devon. The farm is located in a peaceful, rural setting yet has plenty of scope for activities nearby (or indeed on its own 21 acres). It offers a precious chance to relax and unwind - with no noise or light pollution, you will... More

We stayed at Beech Lodge, with our four children and labradoodle. We were able to check in early to the lodge, which got our holiday off to a fine start. We received a pleasant welcome being treated to home baked scones. Although remote, we were able to cycle into winkleigh for provisions and found we were an hour from most... More

We - a family of three - stayed for one week in beautiful Devon in Nuthatch Lodge and despite the rainy weather enjoyed the farm location. There was a very warm and friendly welcome from Ian and Maggie - complete with a lift from the train station and helping out for our first meal as we travelled without a car... More

Great to hear you had a good holiday! We really welcome car free guests (though we don't have all that many!) and try to help out as much as possible. You faced the challenge of a rail strike on one of the better weather days too, so we're pleased we were able to get you to Torrington for our favourite... More

We have just come back from a weeks stay in otter cottage, it was absolutely beautiful!! So peaceful and just what we needed to get away from the city life. Both Ian and Maggie are lovely and welcoming, if we needed anything we only had to ask. You are very remote which didn't bother us as we don't mind driving... More

We were lucky enough to spend half term in the gorgeous Nuthatch Lodge on Wheatland Farm. Overlooking a beautiful nature reserve, Wheatland provided the peaceful escape we were looking for. The Lodge was tastefully furnished and extremely cosy with plenty space for our family of 5 + dog. The location is quiet and private but just a short distance from... More

we had Otter Cottage, Honeysuckle and Nuthatch lodges for a family weekend stay. We all had a fantastic time, the weather tried it's best to spoit it all for us but we managed to have a BBQ 2 of our 3 nights. The Children really enjoyed the boats and swimming in the small lake, we just weren't that brave to... More
