This is the second time we have stayed here and again we were not disappointed. As we have a labrador dog we can't stay in the main hotel. But we did get a lovely room with our own patio overlooking the grounds and sea. Ideal for dog owners. We were even provided with doggy treats daily and towel and mat... More

Stayed for one night late August and enjoyed a marvellous stay. The view over the Loch was absolutely majestic especially early morning and late evening. The food in the restaurant was also excellent well worthy of its coveted 2 rosettes with a comprehensive menu that would not embarrass a fine dining restaurant in any capital city. We stayed in the... More

We booked through a very reasonable Groupon offer and had two rooms for 2-nights in the Cedar Wing that had great views, but fell short on a number of fronts:- 1/ The room smelt musty. 2/ The toilet had hairs on the floor and in one location where you certainly do not want to find hairs. 3/ Large cobweb (12”... Mnay thanks for taking the time to write a review and i am sorry to read that your stay was not to our usual high standard. We shall address the issues you raised. Our rooms are normally thoroughly checked by a supervisor before they are let, just in case there is a rogue hair or cobweb that our housekeepers miss.... More

We spent a night here during a bank holiday weekend and have mixed feelings about it. The room was in the main building and was perfectly adequate. The bar area was a little shabby and lacked atmosphere and seemed to mostly be populated with an older crowd. The restaurant has one of the best views in Scotland. It's a shame... More

Many thanks for taking the time to write and review and sorry that on this occassion we did not meet your expectations or 'modernity'. We will investigate what happened to your coffee as the normal procedure is that you are asked after dinner if you would like coffee in the lounge and then the bar staff serve you. There are... More

We have just had 2 days staying at Loch Melfort Hotel for a family wedding. All of the wedding party who stayed at the hotel were delighted with the hotel; the staff were really friendly and helpful, the service was terrific and the location is wonderful. For the wedding reception and ceilidh/disco the management of the hotel were really helpful... More

Many thanks for your review and we enjoyed the wedding as much as you did. This was the first time we had held a 'tipi' wedding - see our facebook page for photos and it was absolutely amazing! We hope you can come back again and visit for a quieter break! Kind regards Rachel and Calum More

Stayed one night as we were travelling to Oban the next day. We stayed in a standard room as the hotel was full. We had a lovely welcome when we arrived and were taken to our room which was good. The room was very clean and decorated in a contemporary way. The views were fantastic and we had a balcony... More

The chalet rooms are starting to look a little dated and tend to transmit sound from other guests, but are very spacious and comfortable, with huge patio doors overlooking an absolutely stunning view. Bathrooms have been updated and work well, peat tinted spring water may look odd but is good to drink. Bedside lights are too heavily shaded to allow... More

My journey continued from the lakes to the west coast of Scotland. It was an epic journey with just about every Loch and hillside that part of Scotland has to offer. I was pretty tired by the time I arrived. A friend had booked this hotel for me as I was uncertain where to stay. The "Cedar wing" is actually... More

We stayed at Loch Melfort Hotel for a family get-together in June. This hotel has truly spectacular views , looking towards Jura across the loch. The recently refurbished bedrooms were ideal, and the bed ( and pillows!) were supremely comfortable. The owner, Callum, is extremely hospitable and has obviously managed to put together a very personable and friendly staff. The National... More
