Never judge a book etc. read various reviews about the hotel. Got upgraded to a far better room on arrival, staff were excellent, as was the food. Perfect setting even if the weather let us down. Cannot have everything. more

Just returned from Portsonachan Hotel having really enjoyed a 3 day break. Room was small but very comfortable, food was very good and staff very pleasant. We had all our meals in the conservatory whilst we enjoyed the beautiful view across the loch. No complaints whatsover. more

I have never written a comment on any hotel but this one is so bad and run down that I decided to make an exception. We are not talking about the view which is breathtaking but it did not compensate for cold breakfast, every day, a room without heating and no water whatsoever to have a shower or bath .... more

We had a very relaxing stay in hotel that is in a truly fantastic location. We were blessed with glorious sunshine throughout our 3 day stay so spent most of our time outside taking in the views of the Loch.
