We were hiking through the highlands in February and found Inverstrae to be the perfect place to get all our equipment and clothes dried before continuing our trip. Not only did we manage to continue our trip all dry and warm, but we also had a great and comfortable stay. Ina & Jim told us countless interesting facts and histories... More

It was our pleasure to help these three hikers who were forced by the ferocity of Storm Henry the previous night to divert via Inverstrae. We were able to dry out all their kit and tents and give them some respite before they took to the mountains again on their hike towards Glencoe and the north the following day. Conditions... More

I was working in Dalmally for a few days and found Inverstrae to be an excellent choice. Warm welcome and a lovely hot bath after a day in the wind and rain. Ina provided a lovely meal both nights and she likes to surprise with something you would not expect. The starters were exceptional. Rooms and beds were warm and... More

This guest and his colleague were working outside on a nearby contract in conditions which bordered on the severe in our November weather. It was incumbent on us to ensure that our facilities and service inside were of the highest order to compensate for what Mother Nature was throwing at them outside. It is very gratifying to receive this review... More

A comfortable bed, one's own bathroom, and excellent and varied three course evening meals set me up for days on the hill. James and Ina shared their spacious living and dining/kitchen rooms with me, providing friendly and welcome company after solitary hours in the highlands. Very much home from home.

We arrived with some very wet clothing, having got soaked whilst walking in the mountains. Jim and Ina were very welcoming and hung our clothes up over the Aga to dry. We stayed for two nights and had two lovely breakfasts and a delicious dinner with Jim and Ina.

Excellent hosts offering a warm welcome to a cosy home style stay. Set in amongst beautiful scenery about 10 minutes by car from Dalmally. A great place to stay for exploring the river Orchy area, Glencoe, Connel and the adjacent coastal area. Approx. 30 minutes drive from Oban.

Inverstrae offers B and B accommodation where you're made to feel like one of the family. The highlights for me were the excellent evening meal provided by Ina, and lovely walks in the beautiful area around the house. Staying here for one night was a great start to our holiday and we learned a lot about the local area from... More

This B&B is in a beautiful location with magnificent 360 deg views. We stayed here at the start of a cycling holiday and left our car here to collect when we stayed on our return. We were made extremely welcome by Jim & Ina and made to feel like part of the family, the welcome even extending to a gin... More

It was a pleasure to help these guests plan their cycling holiday by providing safe parking for their vehicle while they explored Argyll and some Hebridean islands by bicycle. A G&T helped relax tired and fairly wet muscles before dinner in the comfortable surroundings of Inverstrae Bed & Breakfast. More

I stayed here for 4 nights while walking nearby mountains. This B and B was so good that it is difficult to know where to begin with my praise! First, the welcome. it couldn't have been warmer. Jim and Ina who run the place are genuinely interested in their guests and this soon became evident. Possibly some people may find... More

This guest chose to visit Inverstrae in what turned out to be the most severe weather of the 2015 winter and it was important to ensure the best of comfort for him following taxing and difficult days on the mountains around us. In the pursuit of his hill walking interests he has gained an extensive experience of guesthouses and B&B's... More

I hiked a long way to this B&B and it was worth it for the spectacular location and generous hospitality. Jim & Ina were excellent and interesting hosts and I relished Ina's soup and steak & kidney pie after a long day. A memorable haven off the beaten track.

We stayed with Jim and Ina recently and felt so welcomed. The views from every window in their B&B were truly stunning. We could lay in our bed curtains open (no neighbours) and the mountains were in full view. So sunset and sunrise were spectacular. They are so strategically placed for Munro Bagging and to be able to soak our... More
