Inverstrae is a little piece of paradise nestled in the hills just off the beaten track near dalmally. My wife and I only spent one night there, and were made to feel like family by our very welcoming hosts, the place was spotless, beds were comfortable and the home made food was to die for. Thanks.

It was a pleasure to welcome this couple, who arrived, on their way to a short cruise, as strangers and left as friends the next day. We aim to provide a comfortable family atmosphere for all our guests and these newcomers commented that their experience here was a far cry from the "here's your key and see you in the... More

Fabulous welcome and hospitality, we were relieved to be able to hang wet canoeing clothes to dry - nothing seemed to be too much trouble for our hosts Jim and Ina. The B&B is very much set in the hosts' house - it suited us OK but it might not suit everyone; the rooms are not ensuite but this is... More

This guests review is gratefully received as it highlights the 5 star service we aim to give all the guests who come to experience the comfort of our home. The bed referred to is a superking size which first and foremost is a double bed and which by design can be split to facilitate location etc. it is not just... More

We stayed here for a night at either end of a weeks trip to the Western Isles. A quiet location with fabulous views, great food and a genuinely warm welcome from Jim and Ina, who are the nicest and most helpful people you could wish to meet. Highly recommended.

The recommendation from these guests is welcomed here at Inverstrae. We were aware of special dietary requirements and were able to cater appropriately which allowed the guests to fully enjoy our environment in Glenstrae. Our guests found that our location is a convenient staging post for onward travel to the ferries serving the Western Isles and when making the return... More

It was a pleasure to welcome Mary and Sandy en route south to Dumfries from a favourite holiday destination itself - Skye. Their opinions are much appreciated and encourage us in maintaining the high standards we set ourselves here at Inverstrae. The challenge we now face is how to overcome Sandy's traditional inability to sleep well on his first night... More

All we can say is that Ina and Jim were excellent in the way they are welcoming people in their house. The Breakfast, the warm welcoming and the excellent cookies from INA are unforgettable. Sabine and I were there for 3 days and it was a great place to stay especially the great walking trip we did into the highlands.... More

Inverstrae was all I hoped it would be. The house is located in a stunning location which you can admire from all the rooms or access just out the garden gate. My father and I enjoyed a short walk ... a good tip take some boots or strong shoes as the ground can be a little wet and muddy. Look... More

Stayed here for a work trip in July. It was the most welcoming B&B I've ever stayed in. Jack and Ina made us feel at home at once. We had the most amazing breakfasts, lunches and dinners - all home cooked with locally sourced ingredients. Jack the dog is very friendly and made me feel at home as well. The... More

Wonderful to see Jim and Ina and of course Jack the dog. They were friends of ours in Macclesfield so were looking forward to our trip.
