This hotel is in a beautiful if isolated location. There is plenty to do with its gold course, clay shooting etc. The inside is beautifully kept and very modern in its decor; none of the decayed elegance often associated with Scottish country house hotels. The Isle of Eriska - once you find it - is lovely. It's definitely an "escape from it all": The approach road to Eriska is long and narrow and just when you think you might have arrived, the hotel's driveway is a mile long and even narrower!
