Although we had been strongly recommended this hotel by a number of people, we did not intend to stay there during our tour of Scotland as it was a little out of our budget, but ended up there for 2 nights because we couldn't find anywhere else on a busy bank holiday weekend! For us, this place is simply in... more

Winding road to get there but worth the trip. Staff are very friendly, and helpful. Food at dinner is exquisite. Wine selection good and resonable priced. Spa treatments good, though products over priced. Only complaint would be food at breakfast...think it is the chef's time off? Kippers dry and over salted, smoked haddock the same the next day, grapefruit dried... more

Travelling to Eriska is in itself an adventure - increasingly winding narrow roads lead to a clattery wooden bridge over the water to a luxuriously understated private island. The dining is informal and food outstanding. The staff however are in a totally different league to any I have met before elsewhere - discreet, effortlessly polite, naturally cheerful, and attentive without... more

What a great place! Magnificent location on peaceful private island with stunning scenery, this hotel is like a private country house, comfortably furnished and an air of absolute calm. There are wonderful log fires in the ground floor reception rooms where you can take afternoon tea (included in the room rate). The food is exceptional and the level of service... more

An excellent hotel in a beautiful setting. The highest level of service offered by all staff. Made to feel very welcome. Room was spacious and extremely comfortable. The food and dining service second to none. Best cheese board imaginable. Spa facillities are very good. Really cound not fault. I aspire to return some day. Wonderful experience. more

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon and only lasted one night. The hotel staff were rude and inept and looked down on us (we were the youngest couple by about 40 years). They didn't acknowledge the fact that we were on our honeymoon - all we would have liked was a simple 'congratulations'. The log fire was roaring... more

Stayed for 3 nights in November 2007 for my 40th birthday. Initially booked into main house but felt bedrooms were a bit 'tired' looking. Luckily the beautiful Chive spa suit was available so we upgraded. Fantastic modern suite with a hot tub outside in its own private patio. Absolute heaven! Really really loved Eriska and the feeling of spaciousness and... more

Wonderful hotel in a fabulous location. Great service, good food, lovely rooms. We particularly liked the reception rooms on the ground floor - lots of places to sit during the evening including by the fire (but a bit hot to do that during summer). Wonderful and extensive grounds - we went out for a walk and got completely lost. more

Magical..

This is my second time visiting Eriska. Fantastic private island location near Oban - you feel like you could be a million miles away though. Its a pretty perfect mini-resort - golf, spa etc. The old castle-type main building is beautiful and the new spa lodges are truly fantastic. So, its a great size and its intimate. You can find... more

We recently stayed at Eriska having wanted to stay there for a while as we had heard so much about the property. We were greeted at the car park after navigating our way down the secluded driveway and onto the island. We were staying in one of the spa suites which had everything you would want including a great hot... more
