we are just back from staying the week at Grindon Farm, the owners were helpful and friendly. The accommodation was great, we loved watching the lambs charge around the field. Haydon Bridge is close enough for essentials whilst Hexham is a short drive away. The wall is a few minutes away with all its museums and walks. The weather is... More

This is definitely the place if you like peace and quiet, beautiful views and walking. Can thoroughly recommend the The Old Farmhouse. A well equipped cottage, David and Jackie have thought of everything and are very welcoming. The views from the lounge window are stunning. Hadrians Wall within walking distance. Very dog friendly. All in all a fantastic place to... More

Seeking accommodation suitable for sharing with a disabled relative, The Old Farm House appeared to suit the bill. It did more than that. It provided excellent facilities for the mobility impaired people and is set amongst the most stunning areas of the UK with windows that take full advantage of that. The owners offer a number of extra aids to... More

Spent a lovely week in the Cartshed. The accommodation is fantastic. David & Jackie have thought of everything. Extremely dog friendly. The views from the lounge are beautiful. Very close to Hadrians Wall, ideal for walking. Would thoroughly recommend the Cartshed to anyone. Very good value indeed.

Booked the Cartshed for an Easter family holiday. Very easy booking made through Northumberland Cottages. Fantastic conversion of the old farm cartshed. Everything you could want in a holiday cottage was there;, log stove, underfloor heating, panoramic windows offering uninterrupted views looking out over the country side 3 en-suite bedrooms and loads of fresh white towels. Spotlessly clean and a... More

We stayed at the Cartshed for one week in September. There were 3 generations traveling and the cartshed worked wonderfully because of the 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms AND a tv in every room. It is located up a slight hill with beautiful views all around and floor to celiling windows to take in all those views. All the Roman... More

We stayed four nights in the Cart Shed at the end of April six adults and baby and found that we all had plenty of room, three double rooms each with en suite ,large sitting room with panoramic views and well equipped kitchen . Owing to the cold weather the under floor heating kept the building at a constant warm temp... More

Dave and Jackie excellent hosts. Cart shed has three en-suite rooms. Was B&B now you can rent the whole place! Kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, dryer (although clothes can dry overnight on the clothes pulley). Towels, hand made soap, small marmalades and raspberry jam - all the little touches that make things special. Sustainable water and doing all they can... More

We had a wonderful stay at Grindon Farm! It is within a few miles of the main sections of Hadrian's Wall, Saxon sheep folds, major battles and 4000 year old burial mounds. A history buffs paradise. The accommodation was very comfortable and Jackie and Dave have just switched from B&B to self-catering, which it is perfectly setup for. Jackie and... More
