The rooms were lovely, the communal areas perhaps basic, everything clean, but much much more important than any of this is the welcome and fun that we had staying here! As a family of 6, we can be very conscious of how disruptive 4 kids can be. Throughout, we were not only welcomed, but entertained too. There is a free... More

We had a family event to attend and several of our family stayed up at the Hotel for the weekend at the end of January. It is very quiet and set in a lovely rural setting. The team were friendly and welcoming. The rooms were large with comfortable beds and en-suite. It was really relaxed and we spent time playing... More

We rented the whole hotel for 2 days for 7 families with children from 5-14 years. Jim who is the owner of the property was very accommodative and made our stay extremely comfortable. The rooms were warm and were generally spacious. There is an open fire in the restaurant, a pool table and table football which older kids enjoyed all... More

The sixteen members of our extended family stayed here on a two night get together at autumn half term and for a group of three generations it was great. There is a large lounge with a bar with dominos, darts, table football and a pool table meaning the children, well everyone really, had ready entertainment to hand. Jim the owner... More

Hadrian Lodge is a family run B&B and I was most impressed by the friendliness and the welcome I received when I stayed there recently. The host Jim and his grandson Shaun provide a great ambience, with competitively priced food and wine and their great sense of humour. I hope to stay there again sometime and definitely recommend the place... More

We (7 walkers on the Hadrians Wall walk) found Hadrians Lodge to be a great resting place for tired legs... The Host Jim was more than helpful and the breakfast was simply excellent, the dinner was very well cooked and all the guys polished it off. We had a great night in the bar, with Pool, Darts and Table Football... More

stayed Saturday 16th July for one night with my son (13) myself, my boyfriend and our dog (Poppy) had a lovely time and made to feel very welcome by owners and staff. Food was delicious (especially the breakfast) and they really couldn't do enough for us! Thanks to Jim for the Archery lessons which we thoroughly enjoyed!! We loved the... More

Stayed one night on our way to Edinburgh. We arrived late but this wasn't a problem. We felt very well looked after. The gentlemen were very accomadating. We woke up to a lovely countryside view. Breakfast was lovely. Our three year old boy had a go at feeding their sheep. Very satisfied, would definately come here again.

Stayed for 2 nights 30th-31st july 2014. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. My son was allowed to drive a tractor and was able to feed the sheep. We had such a good time we will be visiting again soon.

Stayed for one night in July with 2 kids and they had a great time. Nothing was any trouble for the staff and the kids were given a ride in the tractor and shown how to become archers by Jim. Lovely location and very convenient for visiting Hadrians wall and the nearby Roman fort and museum. Accommodation is comfortable and... More
