Memories of the pool (and swim up bar) help get this hotel a better rating than I was going to give it. The rooms are very average and not attractive, but it's a beautiful place. It's all inclusive, but don't expect too much from the drinks - the beer was not nice, the wine was awful, and the spirits are... More

Have just had a delightful break at Papillion. This is a lovely property on a superb beach. The majority of staff do a great job. This is Africa and you are bound to get some-one with the sulks and many who move extremely slowly. Food: Breakfast was good. The other meals could have been more interesting and more tasty but……..a... More

This was our 2nd holiday at The Papillon within 12 months staying from the 7th to 21 January. At first we had problems arrangeing this holiday due to the FCO (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) reports of Mombasa being out of bounds. Thankfully Travelbag came to the rescue with hotel booking and we booked our own flights avoiding Mombasa. We used... More

I have visited Papillion Lagoon Reef long time ago, on November 2013, but I still remember this place as one of the best I have been to! Me and my husband where spending honeymoon there. All the positive things: - nice, welcoming, professional... Just the best staff! - attractive animation team - very warm and nice atmosphere - a lot... More

I visited the hotel 2 years ago and despite a few issues then which I had mentioned in my review on tripadvisor on January of 2013, I decided to return to the hotel with the same group as we generally had a good time back then. I was hoping things would have improved considerably from last time however to my... More

Thank you for choosing to stay at Papillon and taking your time to write a review of your holiday. We are glad that you found several parts of the hotel to be satisfactory. We are introducing vegetarian soups to be served on the three nights when we have seafood/meat/chicken soups whenever we have vegetarian guests. We are sorry for the... More

This was our 2nd stay at this hotel and we were very disappointed. The AIr Conditioning was on a timer and off during the day. Too many Mosquitos in the room and also in the communal areas that indicated poor housekeeping. On one occasion our request for insecticide was met with 'we don't have any'! Kenyan tourist hotels are renowned... More

Many thanks for taking your time to post your review as your comments are very important in ensuring that we maintain an excellent level of hospitality. Due to environmental reasons, our AC units run on timers from 5pm to 9am being the most convenient time in the room. If left to run throughout, causes dampness in the room and mould... More

Wow, breathtaking location. Amazing staff, brilliant pool. Stunning sea. Scuba diving here is unbelievable. Looky Looky men on the beach can be a pain at the start of the week but once they understand you are not going to buy ( don't, cause once you do, you are done for) they leave you alone. The snorkelling from the beach is... More

We stayed here after our safari to relax & unwind and that is exactly what we were able to do. We flew to Ukunda/Diani air strip to get here because of the unfortunate trouble in Mombassa & I actually really enjoyed the flight on a small plane with safari link. The flight was just over an hour & our transfer... More
