I had a great time at SCB! As a volunteer in Kenya it was a great place to get away for a weekend. The prices are extremely reasonable. It was also awesome to have the option to either go out and grab food or simply get food there. The food was awesome and the staff was very nice and accommodating.... More

This is a great backpacker place. Easy to meet new friends whenever you travel alone like me, you wont feel alone at all! Nice compound with a great pool and many choices when it comes to if you want to sleep in a dorm, private or tent. Not to expensive and the staff and managers are lovely. I liked this... More

I must admit I stayed here a few years ago, tripadvisor only lets me go back 1 year. I found all the staff incredibly helpful, constantly suggesting places.to go and stuff to do! I stayed in the dorm room but was put in the private at no extra cost! What backpacker would complain?! The food was good, there was an... More

Clean and comfortable dorms and facilities (could use a few additional bathrooms/showers), cheap and good quality kitchen and bar, nice swimming pool, close enough to the local attractions while still remaining quiet and relatively secluded, friendly and helpful staff and always other travelers hanging about!

Great hostel with a cool community vibe. You will not be alone for long in this place. Louis serves free shots at night and everyone will start partying and eventually end up going to 40s afterwards. The private room with shared bath was a little cramped, but had a comfortable bed and a good moskito net. The food served was... More

South Coast Backpackers are responsible for popping my backpackers cherry and I consider myself an incredibly lucky ducky for having chosen them as my firsts (Its kinda like sleeping with Angelina Jolie/Brad Pitt as your first i think... imagine how you'd feel after right??!) This is also being said by someone who has called Kenya home for the last 20... More

Make sure you make it to this fab hostel. Everything about it is great. The place is amazing, just like a resort for the price of a hostel and just a quick walk to Diani Beach. The atmosphere is great because the staff are fantastic and there is a great range of people there from all over the world. It... More

A wonderful place to stay! Facilities are great, hostel is a 2 min walk from the beach, staff are incredibly accommodating and lovely. Favorite place in Mombasa! No complaints at all. Delicious food from the kitchen which is cheap and available all day.

This is one of the best backpackers I have ever been to. There are always interesting people to talk to, there is a nice chillled-in-the-day, party-in-the-night atmosphere, and Diani itself is beautiful. Only downside: food is average and takes a long time to be cooked.

Dear Sam, thanks for your review. We are happy to hear you loved you stay. Sorry about the wait for the food. We have a small kitchen, but we do our best to accommodate large crowds of people. That being said, we are always open to suggestions. So if you would like to send me a private message, or next... More

Rented a single room outside. Good space, good bed and a few meters away from other facilities. The prices at the backpackers are affordable, and good compared to many other places nearby. The food is good, the atmosphere good, and great staff; especially Louis, who (among others) did his best to create a welcoming and including atmosphere. All in all,... More

Dear Nomad, thanks for you review! We are glad to hear you loved your stay. We understand that there is a shortage of showers and toilets, so are building a new shower block, which should be completed within the next few months. We have just celebrated our 2nd year anniversary, and while we have completed many projects already, there are... More
