I spent 6 days in Stilts in a nice tree house. The owner and the team are very helpful and welcoming. And Ray, the cook, can make you very good dishes ! Situated just few meters from the beach and 40 thieves restaurant, Stilts is offering calm and a very interesting atmosphere. It's the place to stay in Diani for... More

It's not everyday when you can say you stayed in a treehouse while on vacation. Stilts is a very affordable place to stay while in Diani Beach, which has tons of premium-priced resorts. There are a handful of treehouses and ground-level cottages with the bar/lounge area occupying the main treehouse. We were in a triple treehouse with the third bed... More

A bunch of friends and I were able to make a quick turn-around reservation at Stilts during the Easter Holiday (one of the busiest weekends of the year in Kenya). Andy was super accommodating, and he has opened two new cottages that were fantastic base camps for this big group of 10. We love the monkeys and the bush babies... More

I stayed at stilts as part of a round the world trip and it was by far my favourite place, I ended up coming back twice! The location is perfect, just a couple of minutes’ walk to the beach but set back off the road in the middle of the bush so you get the best of both! There’s loads... More

A piece of paradise. Andys a great guy, his staff are brilliant, they couldn’t be more welcoming and helpful.Andys vast local knowledge made my time ( a lone female traveller) a safe and genuine African experience. The extra special setting , feeding the bush babies, gorgeous white beaches close by,not to mention the the liquorice rum! It’s clean, it’s friendly, its sooo good,... More

Stilts backpackers is one of the best and coziest hostels i've been to! (And i've been around traveling in South- and Central America, only living in hostels). I guess it's the friendly and family rich feeling I loved the most. But the hostel is placed in a calm area surrounded by loads of jungely trees with monkeys, lizards and bush... More

The rooms at Stilts are nicely set out and the toilets and showers are large and clean. The stairs up to our room were thin metal bars rather than steps so caution is required when going up or down at night. The room lacked a bit of privacy as there was no blinds or cover over the door which is... More

I stayed at Stilts with a friend in September 2011 and when we came back from the beach at 4 in the afternoon got robbed by 3 guys with machettes in the driveway of Stilts. The owner could not care less that it happend, he showed no interest at all. After it happend we heard that the week before exactly... More

Stayed in a tent for about $6/ night. Worth it considering I came home from forty thieves bar (across the street and on the beach) late at night and woke up early to hit the beach again. The food was average and affordable. They let me borrow a towel all weekend and had lock boxes to keep my valuables in.... More

Andy has 8 "houses" on stilts in the forest. They are basic, twin or double, cabins, with lots of air. Monkeys dart around, so do not leave any food in your cabin. Showers and toilets are in a block outside, but very clean. There are also two cottages, with en suite semi outside bathrooms. This is a very laid back... More
