Our party consisted of 4 adults (45 to 55 age group) in 2 studio rooms. The rooms are spacious, sparsely furnished, 2 single beds (very hard) pushed together, a smallish but adequate bathroom & a reasonably sized balcony, which is a story in itself. Before I left on holiday I emailed the hotel direct to ensure that we had been... more

The hotel doesn't look exactly like the photos but its virtues soon become clear. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable if you like a firm mattress. The kettle, hobs and fridge are excellent. We had to pay for the safe and the air-con but both were worthwhile. There were two pools we had the one in our half almost... more

We have visited this hotel before but sadly the place is not the same, the entertainment has gone along with the atmosphere!! The british guests that we talked to felt disappointed that no effort was put into making the bar a place to want to come back to on an evening as most resorted to an early night with a... more

Found this hotel to be good by Greek standards although it was definitely not what you would expect from a 4* hotel. The walk to the center was fine for us - about 15 minutes walk, but I could see it being a bit of a problem for those with kids or some old people as some of the walk... more

I've stayed at the Filoxenia twice in 2006 and 2008 and plan to go back next year and I cannot wait! For us, we love the location as we like to have a bit of a walk to and from the centre, it doesn't bother us in the slightest. It also has the added bonus of stopping off at Sandra's... more

We traveled to greece for a wedding , all of the staff except for the night receptionists were very kind and helpful. But the hotel was in no way what we had paid for. There are no actual bad things about the hotel but there are a lot of things missing. The hotel shop charges dubble the amount of all... more

Hotel room rather 70's. Two single beds pushed together. Small table and 2 chairs in room which was a good thing. Cooking faclilities basic. Good for breakfast etc. A fridge was available. The room was quite dark inside unless all lights were on. Our room also had an extra 3rd camp bed type we didn't request. Beds rather hard, not... more

Thank you for taking the time to add a review on our hotel. It is very frustrating to hear that you did not find what you expected. I must also thank you for adding some good points on your review about Filoxenia. In regards to the accommodation I must inform you that during Winter 2010, a full refurbishment will take...

We stayed at the Filoxenia at the begining of June, i had read many reviews and knew it was situated away from the main resort area so i wasn't surprised about the 15 minute walk or the 25 minute walk to the beach, but was surprised by the lack of taxis as we planned to walk in and taxi back.... more

Great base for a holiday in Zakynthos. Different countries have different criteria for awarding stars and no this is not a 4* hotel based on English crieria but the hotel isn't in England it is in Greece! If you book expecting an English standard 4* hotel then unfortunatly you will be disappointed. We were very happy at the standard of... more
