After booking the night before, my family was given two beautiful suites with balcony/terrace affording a glorious view of the mountains beyond. Although startled at the narrow-street entrance, we were soon very glad we'd chosen Couvant d'Herepian, as we were warmly welcomed by the exuberant, multi-lingual Yves. The top-floor, two-bedroom apartment was magnificent but the stairs were too much for... More

Dear Madam, Thank you first of all for your comment. And I had this privilege to meet you and your wonderfull familly. Into my carreer I kept always in my mind and close to my heart some guests... because there were special and we shared a nice moment in life (even if it is always too short). You will be... More

We stayed one night with 2 friends including a bride to be (the very next day) in suite number 5 with a massive terrace overviewing the surrounding villages. Breakfast is included and can be eaten either downstairs or in your room (if you have one of the four with a terrace that is). Priceless! The pool is small but fresh... More

Tastefully renovated building and rooms. Peaceful location on the outskirts of a village, with great views over fields and mountains. Very relaxing homely atmosphere and friendly hosts. Wonderful dinners that can be served in own room or in the garden. Conveniently located to visit the Haut-Languedoc region and surrounding vineyards. Great for walks, cycling & running (a 75-km foot/cycling path... More

I agree with Mawalb, a previous reviewer who remarked that this place has seen better days. The staff were careless, didn't clean except on the first day (we stayed a week), yet there was no equipment to clean for ourselves. The bathroom got quite grubby with our footprints. There was a continual leak all over the floor when you take... More

Hi Kate, Thank you for the time you took to share you experience at "Le Couvent".. You should know that since begining of March 2014 things has changed (team and owner) into a better way... even if there's works to do still... What you were writing is true, no excuse for the past and I do hope to welcome you... More

I had not read any reviews on Couvent d'Herepian prior to posting my own review. Whilst I recognise some of the feedback, the relaxed approach suited my wife and I very well. We had booked an overnight stay on our journey between Marseille and Carcassonne, this to include breakfast and a massage in the spa as a package. Upon arrival... More

Despite the large and comfortable room, the service and value-for-money are quite disappointing, especially the breakfast with poor choice and a do-it-yourself approach. Neither finding a place for parking or dinner are easy.

In December 2010 The Daily Telegraph included Le Couvent d’Hérépian in an article entitled, ‘The 50 best hotels in the world’. Having just spent 7 nights there ourselves we can appreciate how such high acclaim was achieved. However, less than three years on and the magic is fading. At the end of the day it's simply about attention to detail... More

We had a one night stay at the Couvent during a trip across the south of France but found it to be the most disappointing place of all. The hotel is quite well positioned in the middle of a small village but with restaurants, cafes and bars within walking distance. On arrival my wife tried to book a massage but... More

We spent ages driving around in circles trying to find this little hole in the wall hotel and were then directed to a car park half a kilometre away. Not a great start. Of course we were then told that we couldn't eat in the hotel and later had to put up with some mediocre scoff in a local restaurant.... More

We just got married and received a night in this ancient couvent as a wedding gift. Very warm welcome, the room was great. We didn't expect it but there were cooking facilities incorporated in the room. Food for dinner was comparable to what is served in a gastronomic restaurant and was delicious. The facilities were above expectations: the spa pool... More
