It was the lure of northern lights which brought me and my friend to STF Abisko. With a beautiful view, the room was excellent for star gazing in night, waiting for the patterns. Since it was a weekend, there was no staff, hence no room service. But the kitchens were equipped enough for the stay. Although they were hostel rooms,... More

Me and my family had a nice week at STF Abisko. We lived in one of the separate cottages, which has 6 beds and a large combined living room and kitchen. We stayed there for the location and it's proximity to Björkliden and Riksgränsens ski resorts. We mostly went by cross country skis, but we did some high alpine tours... More

The rooms are very hostel like, though with your own bathroom. I was only their for 1 night which was enough, but the room did the job as this is the best location to benefit from the Aurora Sky Station. However, the food was more of a revelation, I was expecting something basic from the restaurant, but I received a... More

Had a great 5 days / 4 nights at STF Abisko. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable, there are lots of communal areas and little rooms by the fire to relax and get free wifi. The food is fantastic. Would highly recommend a nightly photographic tour with Lights over Lapland

The rooms are very basic. We stayed in the "youth hostel" building, Keron, a "Self-catering chalet". Here there were shared bathrooms, separate showers, and a shared kitchen. This place is truly a hostel, but we did get a private room. You are responsible for cleaning the room when you leave and will be charged extra if you don't clean. There's... More

The main building is a crowded place and not very cosy. The bar closes early and the sauna's are separate. We stayed in one of the cabins. It was a bit dated. The surroundings definitely make up for it. The chair-lift ride to the Aurora mountain station was a blast. They fit you into a thick coverall that did come... More

I have just returned from a trip to the Abisko Turistation as part of a Northern Lights/ Ice Hotel package organised by Discover The World.com. We stayed in the main building. The room was clean, comfortable and basic, but then you cannot expect luxury halfway up a mountain in the wilderness of the arctic! There is no point me writing... More

This hotel is based perfectly to see the Northern Lights as the Abisko space station. The hotel is clean, comfortable the chalet's are two story. The food is really good quality! I highly recommend it. They also accommodate vegetarians. At the space station, a few insights. - the walk to the chair lift is about 20 minutes. You need good... More

Captive audience is the word. What a lot of money they make! The room rates were a little more than the other places we stayed, but what you would expect to stay in a national park with no competition. The rooms were basic and in need of décor update. They weren’t very warm, we put the radiator on full when... More

It is probably true that Abisko is one of the worlds best spots to see the northern lights. If they show at all, you will get a first-row view (see also reviews for Aurora Sky Station which is adjacent). We received excellent service and particuarly the organic home-made breakfast buffet as well as the dinner stood out. The rooms in... More
