We rented a 2 room cabin which had everything one needed in this weather conditions. Since the railway station was just across, it was easy to reach even with heavy luggage we needed for the cold Arctic Frontiers. The cabin had facilities to prepare a basic meal though the restaurant had a great spread of a Swedish/Scandinavian breakfast. The dinner... More

Many people associate the experience of seeing the northern light to the STF touriststation. It is not the same, and the northern light is not a service offered. First of all be careful when you book on their website: the price displayed is for STF members, and only just before paying you can say that you are not member, checking a... More

We stayed at the hotel on the first night of a four night trip with Discover the World who themselves were excellent. We had Room 55 which was warm and comfortable. We had booked the evening meal up the chairlift with dinner at the Sky Station. Everything went very smoothly up the chairlift and we had a good dinner (fine... More

We stayed at the Abisko Turiststation for 6 days in February and lights were visible for the first 5 nights. On one night we took a photo course and it was the night the Corona showed itself for over an hour. It was magnificent.Pictures can never capture what we saw as the lights were constantly moving and changing shapes. The... More

Excellent time, bunks comfy, wcs, shower, drying room and sauna along the corridor. Excellent clean and spacious self catering kitchen with beautiful views over the mountains and frozen lake. Well worth trying the organic buffet breakfast, delicious.

We stayed here for one night via a package with Discover the World. The accommodation was spotless and having read the reviews on TA we were not expecting very much- but we were pleasantly surprised. We had room 57 which is at the end of the corridor and is dual aspect - facing both the mountain and the lake. It... More

We stayed for 1 night as part of package from Discover the World, we also stayed at the Ice Hotel. We choose to stay at Abisko for the Northern lights and booked dinner at the sky station via chair lift. Unfortunately due to the snow storm the lift was shut so had to dine in the hotel and no sign... More

The Aurora Sky station is a very basic accommodation. It reminded me of a youth hostel .The rooms are very basic with just an electric kettle and tea bags in the room. The bathroom is also very basic. The good thing is that it was well heated and since I had travelled with friends and was staying only for one night ,I wasn't... We stayed here one night in January before two nights at the Ice Hotel. We were warm and comfortable, and the evening dinner, (set menu but delicious) and very varied breakfast were lovely. If you are a fussy eater you may not be so pleased, but our Saturday menu of scallop on cauliflower puree was mouth watering, and we had... More

Rooms were very basic but warm and comfortable and had tea & coffee making facilities which was welcome after a freezing night out on the lake. The public areas are charming with lots of little rooms to sit in and read, log fires etc. The promised Wi Fi was not working at all during our stay. Having had lunch, which... More
