Eating out is not cheap in this area, however we found this buffet great value, the price was good, the food was excellent, and the view exceptional! NB we didn't stay here, just stopped in for lunch after a lovely scenic walk down the gorge, around the lakeshore (over the ice) and back.

Abisko is in the arctic circle of Sweden Lappland and this hotel is one of few places to stay. Our stay was part of a packaged tour to see and photograph the northern lights. We stayed here 4 nights. We expected basic accommodations after reading reviews so we did not expect even 3 star amenities. Our room was on the... More

The rooms in the hostel building are very basic. Only a duvet is provided. No towels, etc. You also have to clean your own room when you leave, or pay a large-ish fee. The heater in our room (triple room with shared bathroom - a good size for two people with a small amount of luggage) wasn't working, but the... More

We had decided to book a cabin at Abisko Turistation and we were not disappointed, the cabins are large, open plan, very warm and have everything you need for self catering, except linen so either bring you own or hire them, there is a supermarket approx an easy 2.5 kilometeres walk that has anything you need if you choose to do... The room itself here is not the reason that you travel to Abisko Turiststation - mine reminded me of a student dorm (albeit with an ensuite!) - a single bed, light, desk and cupboard. But Abisko Turiststation is a great place to stay in Abisko. The national park office is there and all the trips and excursions (of which there... More

We stayed for one night here before travelling onto to The Ice Hotel. It was quick hour and half drive from Kiruna airport by bus, gradually climbing higher and higher to get to Abisko National Park. The landscape is stunning en route. We were unlucky to arrive in the midst of a snow storm which carried on all night so... More

From some of the reviews on Trip Advisor we were expecting a room from the 1970's and were prepared for the worst. But what we actually got was a really nice modern room in a hotel with very good customer service. The food in the restaurant was good and much better than expected. We only stayed here for one night... More

We arrived here after a scenic train ride from Narvik and nothing quite prepares you for the beautiful location and the changing light. The mountain station itself was a pleasant surprise and the vegetarian food was some of the best we have tasted in our travels. Although our room was basic it was clean and warm.We saw the Lights on... More

This hotel was part of a package, planned in an effort to have the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights. The hotel is ideally situated for the purpose, in delightful surroundings. However, as others have said, the rooms are basic and in our case the radiator was not working, although quickly substituted with an electric convector heater which did... More

Stayed for just one night on a package trip to Lapland. The hotel has a hostel like appearance, with quite basic but perfectly good rooms. The dinner, a choice of one option (you choose if you want two or three courses!) added to the hostel feeling. Until we sat down to eat. Excellent food, delightfully served and we started to... More
