Superb, small, unpretentious hotel - very welcoming and very relaxing. Breakfasts are basic; evening meals are simple but very good. The wine is excellent. The party nights are a brilliant experience.

In the middle of nowhere, surround by olive trees and vineyard, there is Sottotono. Just 30-40' from Florence it seems that you are in a completely different country. Very peaceful and quite. Nice and big bed rooms between classic and design style. From there there is a 1h30 driving to San Gimignano between vineyards and olives really italian. The breakfast... More

We had 5 nights at Sottotono and thoroughly enjoyed them. The food in the evenings was really excellent (the menu is small but lovingly prepared) and was probably the best pasta and steak I have ever had!) Breakfast was continental (of course) and there was enough good stuff for a decent start to the day, accompanied by a lovely cappuccino.... More

My husband and I spent three nights here in July 2012, our first trip to Italy. We loved it! If we had known how nice the agriturismo would be, we would have spent our entire 2 weeks there. It was only about 20 minutes away from Florence, and the GPS had no problem finding it. The views are absolutely stunning... More

I hope this comes across as a balanced review...... Lets start with the good: -Beautiful agriturismo. Recently refurbished and everything with the decor is top-notch. Nice bathroom with powerful shower. Big rooms with A/C and fridge. -Pool is wonderful. Decent size, good temperature, looks brand new. -The general feeling and 'air' of the place is that of quality. -Most nights... More

Sottotono was definitely the best agriturismo we have been in the past years. Situated on a Tuscan hill top, with a view over Florence a great place to start exploring Tuscany. The former farmhouse was renovated to house a restaurant, 5 rooms and an apartment and all between the olive trees and grapevines, which are all used to produce their... More
