Wonderful welcoming hosts. Amazing food, (better than most resturants). Incredible vista. The wood fired outdoor bath on the beach is a must-do! An incredible place to stay and get away from it all. The drive there is one long postcard.

One of a kind accommodation in a stunning nz location! Jude and Roger are experienced hosts, providing delicious, healthy home cooking and relaxed dinnertime conversation in their beautiful home. Staying with them really is a taste of the good life, and you are guaranteed to leave feeling like you've had a proper holiday!

Spent our wedding anniversary here in the very relaxing Seabreeze cottage. Loved the food - dinner was fish caught that morning from the bay, beautiful salads, roasted peppers and homemade bread. Also enjoyed our outdoor bath, with a few surprise fireworks!

We wondered where on earth we were going after 10 miles on a gravel road. We had nothing to worry about when we found this lovely, charming, wholesome, clean, comfortable, well-run B&B. Judy and Roger know how to do things very well. Gracious, welcoming, helpful and hard-working, they run an excellent homestay. All the meals were super-fresh and delicious. Our... More

I'm not one to like being crowded in a hotel with a bunch of other tourists, so this was the perfect place for me. My boyfriend and I lucked out being the the only guests. It's worth the long, windy road to get out there. Once you're there, you're pampered in the best way possible with great food and views... More

We had the sea breeze cottage, up the hill away from the main house. It was fantastic. The hosts are very welcoming without being in your face, the dinner provided was great and the bath on the beach just magic, even though there was light rain. It's a very long windy road in and out, 1 1/2 hours from the... More

This was our third visit to Ngaio Bay in 3 years, enough recommendation in itself. We cannot understand why more people do not come to the hidden treasure of French Pass which is a spectacular area after an amazing drive. Ngaio Bay is a treasure too with the sort of hospitality that only comes from the heart- Jude and Roger... More

It isn't the easiest drive to get there, and the track down to the home is steep but enjoyable. We both love places which are "real". This one certainly is. Our hosts were charming and great fun to be with. We loved the fresh and beautifully-cooked meals, with blue cod straight from the sea and veges grown in the garden.... More

We cycled there from Opouri Valley: 7 hours, with panniers, up and down the hills, along gravel roads, and ages averaging 63. But boy was it worth it. Stunning setting, lovely hosts, terrific food. Our cottage was spacious, comfortable, well appointed, and well equipped.

This is NZ marine wilderness at its most sensational. You are in it. The experience and knowledge of hosts Jude & Roger made our stay truly special. We were lucky enough to enjoy a trip to French Pass on the beautiful "Celine" with Roger taking us through one of the worlds most dynamic stretches of water. Thrilling. Watch out for... More
