Etched into the glass around the door are signs welcoming walkers, and immediately below are signs asking for muddy boots to be removed. Now that is perfectly fine, but it does rather create an impression that walkers are welcome, just not that much. That is an impression which Is reflected in reality. We arrived fairly soggy after a long days... More

We recently stayed overnight at the Charles Cotton Hotel on their 'Sunday Stopover' deal which was great value. We stopped in room 4 which is the suite and it was a fabulous room with a huge bathroom overlooking the square at the front. We loved looking round the village and enjoyed a couple of drinks sat outside in the sunshine... More

This lovely hotel serves the most amazing food and has a warm welcoming atmosphere . We stayed with our dog who was welcome in the bar area . Also a great walking area . Staff were very helpful and friendly the only down side is that we only stayed for 1 night I could have easily stayed for longer

This is a beautiful location. The hotel is small but friendly. They have music on Friday nights good quality mostly locals but a chance to talk to them and join in. Great evening. Reasonable range of wines and beers and the food was well cooked although service was variable. The hotel has been refurbished but small elements still need attention.... More

Stayed here in May for my wife's 40th and had a great weekend. It is a small but charming and cosy hotel in middle of the beautiful village. Room perhaps needed a little work on it but was en suite with a view of the square. Breakfast was was a tasty full English but there was a varied choice such... More

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. We had the suite which was absolutely amazing. The decor and fabrics were sumptuous with excellent complimentary beverages. The bathroom was enormous. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I have a lot of dietry needs but nothing was too much trouble to cater for me. The food was delicious and freshly prepared.... More

We stayed in this very charming hotel for two nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary - the welcome and food, drinks and service was fine, and although the room was ok, the en suite was fairly ordinary. Sadly when it came to the bill there had been an error, and I had to produce an e mail confirmation to qualify... More

Enjoyed our stay overall. Good food. Room 1 is a lovely room but is sadly let down by a poor en-suite. It's tiny size might have been acceptable if it didn't have a chipped toilet seat and it had a pristine shower(not only was there mould around the taps,on the tile grout and the handle on the bi-fold door that... 3 of us staying for one night to go walking. The rooms were good and clean. The food was delicious. The only, but, significant concern was the very slow service. Finding staff was often a problem. Two coffees and a coke 40 minutes ? The bar wasn't busy. Evening meal ordered at 7.50 served at 9.00. A blonde lady asked... More
