Stayed here for 2 nights in a suite, the staff were great as was the food. The room big and warm and comfy. This is an ideal spot for walkers, but for us a little bit off the beaten track. All in all though a good experience.

first things first - we were supposed to stay at this hotel a week earlier, but having been pre-occupied with other things, i completely forgot about our trip until two days after the date of our original arrival date i received a very worried phone call asking if we're still coming. long story short, the management were super kind and... One of the reason we decide to stay here is because it's 'dog friendly', and indeed it is. The two rooms in which dogs are permitted are located on the ground floor of an annexe located just across the driveway to the car park. This is great because you don't have to worry about disturbing any hotel guest if pooch... More

Beautiful, relaxing, welcoming, what else needs to be said. Ideal for walkers. We spent two nights in the hotel, very good real ales. The hotel is also dog friendly. The staff were very helpful. The village itself is worth a walk around, with the proverbial village pond and lovely old cheese shop.

Just returned after spending two nights at this hotel - fantastic. There is not one thing to complain about. Staff are welcoming and all seem genuinely happy. Decor is lovely - the bar area is warm and cosy. Food was amazing as was the wine. We took our two dogs who were decidedly badly behaved but the staff were lovely... More

We have just returned from a weekend break with travelzoo at this gorgeous village hotel. The setting is great, the food was lovely - we eat both nights in the restaurant, the food was very good and not usual pub grub! Breakfast on the first morning was really nice and set us up for the day, the second day not so... More

We have just returned from a 4 day break to the Charles Cotton Hotel and do not think we will be returning there very soon. Nice hotel room, stayed in the stable block as we took our dog, perfect for him. Breakfast was also very adequate. Down side of the break was some service provided by the staff when one... More

Excellent one night stay in the 'Romantic' room. Beautiful room with very comfy bed and lots of thoughtful gestures including CD player with CD's. Definitely recommend. Delicious dinner and breakfast too.
