Jane was lovely, breakfast was very good. However the heating did not seem to be working. We asked for it to be switched on but instead were provided with an electric heater. Next morning at breakfast there was a paraffin heater in the breakfast room so presumably the heating was not working. There was dust and cobwebs everywhere and the... More

I can honestly say that Bank Top Farm is one of the best B&Bs we've stayed in, yes it was a little old fashioned, but all the better for it. Fantastic to stay on a working farm and have a most delicious breakfast cooked by the fabulous Jane.

Stayed for one night as a gift from family. What a great stay, really welcoming, superb room and fantastic breakfast. Remember though, this is a working farm and expect as much. We arrived a little early to book in, but, were shown to our room anyway. Brilliant service.

On arriving at the farm, there was no one to be seen, I spent fifteen minutes walking around knocking on all the doors, but no response. Eventually a women appeared and shouted " yes what do you want", I walked up to her and said hello introduced my self and informed her that we had a reservation, giving her my... More

We too used a Relaxing break voucher after difficulties with the booking arrangements. Our arrival was less than welcoming and tea was certainly not offered. We were told, as we were being shown to the room, that the local pub, the Devonshire arms was full and that she did not know where we could find an evening meal. The room... More

We stayed at the Bank Top Farm for a night and was pleased with everything. On our arrival we were sat down given some home made cake and a pot of tea which we enjoyed sat outside in the sunshine whilst our room was finished being made up. The room was clean, very spacious with un-suite facilities, a little old... More

Stayed at Bank Top as a last minute stay over in the Peak District before heading back to South Africa. It was just what we needed nothing fancy, really friendly and a great breakfast to set us on our way hiking for the day didn't need to eat all day! It is ideally located for walking in the heart of... More

Our Hostess, Jane welcomed us and showed us to a lovely room which felt as though we had stepped back in time. No TV -perfect. On enquiring about a local taxi, as we had booked a restaurant for a meal in another village, Jane said that we would find it difficult to get one and said that she would run... More
