Look elsewhere in Zinal for a quaint Swiss chalet. Hotel Europe has the charm of a quality Best Western. On the other hand, the hotel is centrally located in this small village, with easy access to a small supermarket, sporting goods store, and a very helpful tourist office. Our room, #106, was comfortable, clean, and quiet. We stayed at Hotel... More

Well sited on main street. Most helpful caring staff. We arrived dripping wet in unseasonable weather: in no time boots and coats were off to the drying rooms and slippers were provided all at the main reception. Rooms adequate with balcony; overall a 1970's feel. Outdoor terrace when weather permits

This is a fairly stock standard hotel. Rooms are fine, bathrooms clean, doors lock, balcony view of the peaks at the head I'd the valley. It's all just average, but you'll be safe and clean here. The restaurant is average. Breakfast is nothing to write home about.

Hotel Europe is very pleasant and comfortable, a great place to relax after coming down the mountain. Nicely appointed rooms with modern bathrooms, welcoming staff and a competent restaurant which cooks in several styles ... Swiss, Italian, French ... Copious breakfast. Excellent location, right in the middle of things, next to the store and a short walk from the cable... More

We spent 7 nights here during August 2012 and picked it based on TripAdvisor reviews. Zinal is a quiet, quaint town with a French/German flavour in the Val D'Anniviers. The town is fairly small, but it does have a supermarket, bakery, information centre and a number of bars/restaurants. It offers a range of spectacular hiking opportunities with wonderful views of... My colleagues and I stayed in this hotel for a night in early September before starting our monster hike up the Swiss mountains of Zinal. The hotel staff was friendly even though some of the tenants were not. We were having a last glass of wine in one of the meeting areas on the floor and at 10pm one of... More

While the hotel is clean and comfortable, it has about as much charm as your typical Best Western. We did demi-pension and the food was mediocre. This would not have been bad, except that just across the street were 3 charming hotels in the regional style (Hotel de la Poste, Hotel Trisp and another I can't remember the name of).... More

Stayed for one night last September on a walking journey, having stayed once before. The building is modern and lacks character but our room was comfortable, the staff helpful and the food - including vegetarian choices - excellent. Zinal itself is also rather lacking in character but has good facilities and is on both the walkers' Haute Route and the... More

Spent a comfortable night here during a walking tour of the Anniviers valley. After a wet walk (it sometimes rains/snows there in summer), it was good to find the hotel right at the junction of the walking routes, and close to the cable car station. Food was good and plentiful (we were offered second helpings during dinner). The bar alongside... More
