The staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make our stay on the island relaxing. We didn't realize when booking that it was an all inclusive and were pleasantly surprised with the taste and the quality of the food. We originally booked 3 nights at Jicaro followed by 4 nights at Aqua Wellness Resort but after 2 nights... More

My family was at the Jicaro lodge for Spring Break. Initially we were only going to stay for 2 nights and so glad that we booked it for 4 nights instead, it is a very special place. It is an ecolodge so anyone expecting full service resort accomodations need not apply. That said the bungalows were incredibly peaceful, comfy beds... More

There's a lot to love about this island. We booked our stay through JetSetter and got a decent deal. The birds at night and the howler monkeys in the early morning provide a unique ambiance. There were only 2-3 other couple's besides us, and everyone was very nice. The staff do an excellent job of catering to their guests with... More

We booked a one-week stay (April 25-May 2) at Jicaro Ecolodge, Granada, Nicaragua, based on the descriptions and assurances on its website. After three nights, on the morning of April 28, we left, disappointed and disgusted. The amenities were grossly misrepresented, the accommodation uncomfortable and poorly designed, the food mediocre to merely acceptable. The website states that swimming in the... More

Dear Sondra: Thank you for sharing your experience with us on Tripadvisor. We are very sorry that we were not able to fulfill your expectations. Reading your review carefully, it seems that there was a misunderstanding of what the Jicaro Eco Lodge Experience would be like and what you were expecting. If you look at our website, at no point... Great food. Terrific staff. Amazing location. The lodge is a very civilized and sophisticated way to have an adventure on Lake Nicaragua. We spent the first night of our trip here and it set the tone for a wonderful trip. Terrific for couples, friends or families!

We stayed here during our last days of a month long trip and what a wonderful place to end our holiday. I do agree with recent reviewers that the personal service provided us was beyond compare. My husband wasn't feeling well, so the dining staff consisting of Paula and Cynthia made him a wonderful chicken soup that was not on... More

Jicaro is wonderful. We want to go back immediately. The staff, particularly Paula, Nubia, Howard, Eyner, Lia are amazing. They anticipated all our needs; they provided some of the best service we've ever seen. The staff helped us work on our Spanish. Ask for a mango margarita. The yoga deck is one of the best we've ever seen. Gay friendly.... More

We spent a few nights at Jicaro at the end of March and it was amazing. They were super attentive and great with our 2 children. Our daughter was feeling ill on the way over on the boat and they had a special drink for her immediately upon our arrival. The facilities are fantastic and the staff were wonderful. It... More

I can't stress enough how amazing Jicaro Island is. Between the two of us, my husband and I have covered a good cross-section of the globe, and we both agree that Jicaro Island was our favorite vacation. The setting is absolutely beautiful, on a private island in Lake Nicaragua, but the Jicaro taff really set this place apart. The moment... More

Dear Abby, what a wonderful review. Thank you for mentioning so many of us by name. We really appreciated this a lot. We love to have guests like you at our lodge that truly understand what the experience is about and what we are trying to do here. We agree that Granada can get hot and uncomfortable some times and... More

If you want to Really relax and see a true echo lodge then this is the place. Bring a book as the island is TINY. The food is wonderful, their breads and sauces in particular and the staff are relaxed, professional and very likable. Sea salt pool, and amazing boat ride in, and full meal service. Great design and architecture.
