We stayed here on our way down to the border from Luang Prabang the price was more expensive than advertised on their tariff board. The room was dreadful the cabinet that the tv was on was ready to collapse. The bathroom if you could call it that was a shower falling away from the wall the mirror had lost its... More

My own stupid fault for not booking ahead, but, only one night so how bad an it be. It was worse than expected. Cheap but run down. My wife went to unpack whilst I was checking in and I heard a scream. She saw something dart out from behind the telly. It turned out to be a gecko but she... More

It is good location for getting across the border, only they one night and dunno how far everything was, lovely restaurant near on a ship. Its an old building, rooms are small and a walk away around the building to get to ur room, bed were hard and dirty. The breakfast no seem to understand our order.

We stayed at this hotel because it was the first hotel we saw after making the Mekong River crossing from Thailand. The first room we were shown was small and dark and we asked for a look at a better room. We were taken to the top floor to a large room next to a shared deck with a great... More

We stopped over in Huay Xai at the Gateway Villa Hotel. We couldn't easily find a way to pre-book our accommodation before arriving but after a twenty minute walk we scoped out 5 hotels. We then managed to haggle the price down to 120,000KIP, (we only paid 100,000KIP after some confusion with the change!) for a double room with air... More

I stayed here on a visa run last week so I wasn't looking for opulence, I was looking for convenience. There are two Gateway Villa guesthouses owned by the same guy separated by a restaurant (that he also owns, called My Laos) and a duty-free shop. I stayed at the Gateway right on the corner of the walk up from... More

We stayed one night here after doing the Gibbon Exp. Ok for the price (100 000 kip)- there are similar places in Huay Xai but without wifi or breakfast, and for the same price. They also have cheaper rooms for about 60 000 kip but we didnt see them. Pros: - wifi in the room that worked well - Free... More
