My partner and I went to Tuscany to scout for an important film production, about the true aspects of Tuscany. We have been searching and scouting for the perfect locations for many days. Finally we reached Villa La Grotta, which visually appeared to be a wonderfully balanced combination of antique and modern Tuscany. We immediately felt to ‘belong’ to the... More

Gianluca and Daphne welcomed us into their villa with a glass of prosecco and the hospitality flowed from there. We had a perfect room, with a lovely home cooked meal and everything we needed after that. As long as you have a car, the location is perfect for exploring the Tuscan countryside as well as being near enough for a... More

We had the most fantastic holiday ever in Villa la Grotta. We spent 4 weeks in that villa, with our 4 children ages 2, 3 5 and 15. In the last week my mother in law joined in as well. The owners Gianluca and Daphne are gems of people. Hard working, devoted to their hospitality and they were definitely able... More

So glad we got out of there after only 3 days. Problems and 'miscommunications' with the room and the travel agency, a loose water tap full of fungus and rotten silicone, an old shower full of dust and hair, a toilet that barely could flush, a breakfast of old bread (cutting through kind of impossible), the cheapest marmelade of the... We have just returned from Villa La Grotta and felt it was so notable that a review should be placed asap. We booked through Secret Escapes and one thing we should note to start with is that having reviewed some previous poor reviews I would categorically say that these all stemmed from customers not reading the details of the trip.... The address we were given by Secret Escapes was simply Arezzo. The hotel is 20 Km away from Arezzo which made it difficult to find initially. As a result, I learned to use a ' sat nav'. The hotel is an old manor house which has been converted into a hotel very tastefully. We had a junior suite on the... More

We were looking for a place in Tuscany to relax and explore the local area and we found just what we were looking for through Secret Escapes. We did our research so knew that we would be outside the town and that local restaurants were limited. In fact one of the best pizza restaurants we have been to was in... More

Gianlucca and Daphne made this a wonderful week where nothing was too much trouble, all was catered for in a personal, friendly sense and we will without doubt return, the rooms are of a rustic nature but of a high standard and the menu offered is of a similar nature, to return to the villa in the evening and find... Stayed for 5 nights in September 2015. Were put away on the top floor in a room where half of it was not usable because of the pitched roof. No elevator, just take your luggage 60 stairs up. Average bathroom, small shower cubicle, nothing special. Breakfast was nothing special in an uninviting room. Our room was situated next to the... More

Good evening, I am the owner of Villa la Grotta Gianluca Bertoletti and I never responded personally to anyone, but your couple I remember!
