Villa La Grotta is a lovely traditional house up in the hills the rooms were spacious and clean. The room came with a basic kitchenette which was ok for making basic meals if needed. We chose to eat out every evening sampling the traditional restaurants around the area and to prepare lunch in the room with rolls from the local... More

We visited villa la grotta end of august 2014. We had special four days -it felt magical - the villa, the scenery, the tranquil nights, the great food! The staff are ever so friendly and helpful, but in the same time ever so tactful, you hardly notice there are other guests or members of staff there. Would definitely go back... More

We just came back from 7 nights at this lovely villa. Simone and Vlad were the staff we dealt with and they are very helpful and friendly. We stayed in the Giotto room which is on the ground level adjacent to the main villa. Huge bathroom with a nice little lounge area. The kitchenette is rather rudimentary and if I... More

VLG is a little taste of Tuscany but our dream stay ended there. Though the grounds, building, and rooms all had plenty of historic Italian character, ambiance, and cleanliness, we found VLG to be little more than a place to lay our heads at night. We booked our trip through travel zoo and were fully aware that our rooms were... More

Just had an amazing 7 nights in this beautiful Tuscan hotel. Set in a peaceful location with lovely gardens and pool , this was the perfect get away without the kids. We stayed in the Carvaggio suite which was spacious both downstairs and upstairs. As for Vlad, Simone and the rest of the staff, they couldn't do enough for you.... More

We stayed for 5 nights in July and loved every minute. Vlad and Simona were wonderful hosts, nothing too much trouble which made our stay even more enjoyable. You definitely need a car to get around and enjoy the wonderful scenery of Tuscany. Vlad will gladly draw you a map !! It was lovely to return after a day out,... More

I don't know what others were talking about, but this was the most amazing place to stay!!! Vlad, Simona, and Luigi were most wonderful!!! I would recommend anyone to stay at Villa La Grotta!!! I would go back just to see Vlad, Simona, and Luigi again!!! I don't care if I had to walk up fifty flights of stairs, the... More

Went in July and had a great time. We stayed in an attic room which was small but comfortable, and a great value since we used a travelzoo voucher. Found the staff collectively to be really friendly and helpful, which really made the stay nice. Overall just felt like it was a really pretty spot with relaxing ambience. other Pros:... More

We booked this gem of a villa after reading the reviews on tripadvisor and it was amazing. It was a bit of a trek from Pisa airport but that was all forgotten when we saw the beautiful villa including our spacious/amazing Michelangelo suite and the warm reception from Simona. Nothing was too much trouble for Vlad and Simona. They were... More

A few weeks ago we spent a lovely week at Villa La Grotta where I also celebrated my birthday. Upon arrival we were greeted by Simona and made to feel welcome. We stayed in the Michelangelo Suite which was lovely and spacious, there was ample parking space. Breakfast is relaxing and informal, with a great selection of continental meats, local... More
