In the heart of the Tuscan countryside, Il Borro provides a wonderfully relaxing experience. A superb restaurant, beautiful Chateau and winery, marvellous country walks. It is within striking distance of Sienna and even Florence, both of which we visited, and Arezzo is a 1/2 hour drive away. The accommodation in the renovated medieval village were superb. All in all an... More

Il Borro is very nice and it's like you're staying in a tiny village. The villas are rustic. Both restaurants are amazing and the tennis courts are great. They have one hard court and one grass court and both are very well kept. Il Borro was definitely a great stop on our recent trip to Italy.

This place was a puzzle to me. We are regular Relais et Chateaux guests and devotees of LuxuryLink. Il Borro was the right place for us, or so we thought. Do your homework before you visit and you will have a marvelous experience. If you go expecting extreme luxury you will be disappointed. Il Borro has numerous options from multi... More

I've travelled a lot in my life, and I can tell this is a top place in every sense: breathtaking views everywhere, excellent service, not only in the apartment itself, but in all the places we frequented inside of the property (Spa, Osteria del Borro and Vincafè), and a friendly and helpful staff. The best experience I had at Il... More

We stayed twice at Il Borro and we continue to love this unique property. Owned by the Ferragamo's, it is a medieval village transformed into a luxury hotel. We stayed in one of the appartmets of the old village and it felt like being taken back into time. Little artisans have their shops just outside our appartment and it all... More

We just spent a night here on our way from Rome to Florence. It is about 15 minutes from the Prada outlet in Montevarchi but such a wonderful place to escape to. We stayed in the village in what appears to be our own home with a kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms Etc. We had our dinner at the restaurant... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Telling its stories, a place becomes part of those stories. The legend takes on a life beyond the place and becomes timeless. The origins of the village of Il Borro are lost in the history of medieval Tuscany and the famous people who established the reputation of the region. Every alley, every stone speaks of a time that once was, of flavours and scents that recall the memory of a rare and more authentic Tuscany.Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, in the shadow of the cypress trees of the ancient Via dei Sette Ponti, (an area rich in art and culture between the three main cities of Tuscany Florence, Arezzo and Siena), Il Borro is an open window on history, a fresco to a far away world. The Medici dynasty, the Savoia family and now the Ferragamo family have safeguarded and preserved this precious oasis, making this place, suspended between past and present, a sanctuary dedicated to wellbeing and the art of hospitality. You are welcome - one thousand years of history are waiting for you! ... more   less
