We stayed here for two nights in October. Overall, we loved it and will consider staying again, though maybe under different circumstances. Pros: We really loved the grounds. This place delivers on the "castle dream" experience without going into the overly kitsch. Be prepared for a mini-town of narrow stone passages and walls. You are spoiled for choice of beautiful... My husband and I came across this castle hotel on our honeymoon and thought at the time what a great place it would be to stay, especially for kids. So when we planned to take our 9 year old son on a tour of Italy this summer Castello di Gargonza was definitely on the list! It was still an impressive... More

Fabulous decor, the castle is very tastefully renovated the grounds are impeccably looked after, the food although unpretentious is wonderful and the staff could not offer you a warmer welcome. Quite steep hills to walk around and to access the pool, not a problem for most but best to be aware for the less able to walk. We had an... More

I was lucky enough to be able to attend a wedding there, of course the location was spectacular, the pictures speak for themselves; the food was outstanding. But I wanted to put in a good word for the staff, they were incredibly helpful and responsive. They were even able to squeeze me in for a hairdressing appointment the day of... More

We spent a week here with a Stanford University Alumni Travel group of 21. Our daughter, her husband and two grandsons, 10 and 12, were with us. Gargonza was our base for exploring Siena, Pienza, Montepulciano, and Arezzo. Cortona is also nearby. The restored village has enormous charm and character and you can easily spend an hour or two just... More

We booked last minute and were so pleased we did! A wonderful, unique experience. The castle and village have been renovated in a very sympathetic way - its beautiful. The restaurant is great - we loved the waiters and the local restaurant 2 kilometres down the road was also good. Lots to do and see in the area. We loved... More

This hotel/restaurant was an amazing find for us. We only ate at the restaurant, because we were staying at a villa nearby, but our experience was amazing! I have Celiac Disease, so I can't have gluten, and this restaurant had everything I needed! GF bread, a chocolate cake, and the meal was outstanding. The service was also exceptional, and the... Castello di Gargonza was the PERFECT place to stay in Tuscany. It is absolutely beautiful, and the staff is warm, hospitable and has an amazing eye for detail. The grounds are exquisitely maintained, and while on the rustic side, the rooms and apartments are extremely clean, very spacious and super comfortable... we were beyond impressed. This is a great location... More

We had a wonderful stay at Castello di Gargonza: the castle and grounds are beautiful, the pool is fantastic, and the restaurant delicious. It's in a great location to explore other parts of Tuscany as well.

We visited for one night in May trying to find a wedding venue. This is such an amazing rustic location. I especially loved the smell of the log fire in the room and the fresh flowers growing everywhere around. I feel like if you got married here you wouldn't even need to decorate as it is already so stunning. Unfortunately... More
