The pousada is by the train station but a good 20min walk from the main bus station, though you can take a 5min local bus for R$2 single. The rooms are fairly small, run down and strangely decorated with weived ceiling panels and with windows opening into the room providing a view of the wall of the adjacent building with... More

A beautiful place to spend a few nights. Old fashioned with modern touches. Antique furniture. Gorgeous foot wide hardwood planks on the floors. Woven bamboo mats on the ceilings. Freshly varnished wooden shutters with interesting strret scenes painted on the walls outside the windows. Nice staff, as English is spoken. Cafe de manha is taken in the grotto-like basement restaurant.... More
