This review is for the Ngan Nga Hotel at 133 Ngoc Uyen in Bac Ha - not the one at 115-117. There are two, and apparently the one at 133 is the older one (only one is listed on Trip Advisor and I think it's reviews on here are for both). We were able to negotiate 400,000 D per night... More

Two hotels with the same name. We stayed at the original one located at 133, a few doors past the newer one when walking from bus stop in town center. The one we were at had huge dining areas set back away from the street. We were given rooms on the 4th floor but the place appeared quite empty, like... More

We chose Bac Ha as a base rather than the more touristy Sapa, but the downside is very limited options to stay. This and a similarly named hotel are owned by the same owner, the restaurants have the same menus and I suspect the tours offered all channel to the same bank account. It is hard to escape this and... More

We stayed here for the night before the Sunday market. it was OK. Please note -about two buildings up the road ( west of it) there is another hotel with the same name. This one is the closest to the market place location and the Buddhist temple. The people in the reception were not very friendly or helpful. but the... More

The hotel is nice and Mr Phan Tan speaks English very well. He is helpful but charges tourist prices for all services. Bac Ha is clearly becoming a tourist trap. The room was clean and big, we choose the 6th floor and even if there was no escalator, the view was worth going up the stairs. Unfortunately there was no... More

We spent 3 weeks in total in Vietnam and unfortunately we have to rate Ngan Nga as our least favourite hotel of the whole trip. There is probably not much wrong with Ngan Nga itself. The hotel owner looks like an honest dude trying his best but there were a few reasons why we would not stay overnight in Bac... More

We were there 2 nights and it was a great place to live and organize trips around Bac Ha. We had a great view from the upper floor for Bac Ha market. Breakfast was included the price. The person who manages the hotel speaks excellent English, is helpful and will arange any transport, every trip in a very good price.... More

Theres not a lot of choices for mid-budget accommodations in Bac Ha. Most don't have any online booking or anything, so we used the good ol' telephone, and we're pleasantly surprised by Tan's excellent English (he self-taught himself to speak 6 languages! A former physics teacher). These hotels get booked up on the weekends with the big tour groups, but... More

We had a very spacious twin bed room with a balcony, on the 5th floor as requested, for a view. We were very aware of an odd bad odour in the room and hoped it would dissipate as we used the room more ...it didn't. The bathroom, well....as is often the case the pipe from the basin didn't actually link... More

We did not stay at this hotel but our guide took us here for a cool drink and meal. Six of us sat under the fans and cooled off. There was no Airconditioning but the fans were okay. The food is really good and along with a heap of bottled water, cokes and beer we were shocked when along with... More
