The view from the balcony is just amazing, the owner Mr. Tom is very friendly and the price was super cheap as well. The Bathroom was clean, the beds were very comfy. I would definitely stay again! There is no Lift in the building, but that was no problem for me and my friends.

Mr Tom is certainly fun, helpful & convincing! We didn't stay at the hotel but used the travel services and were sold a boat trip that was on a nice, clean boat, with a good guide who speaks English very well and we would see a cave, kayak, visit monkey rock and have squid for lunch! All for $25 (should... More

I stayed at this hotel for two nights in late December of 2013. After walking into a couple of hotels I found that this one was the best choice: I had a room on 4th floor with amazing sea view and paid 7 USD for the night. Mr. Tom, the hotel manager was friendly and spoke English well. He also... More

We had a 14$ sea view room with air con, and this is the positive of our experience there. We were 3 people in 2 rooms that we had deal the price by email. Once arrived at the hotel, staff tried to put us in a no view room and in a seaview room. After a couple of argues with... More

The power did go out (along with the whole town's power) and the bathroom sink did have a weird mold on the handle but you get what you pay for. A beautiful harbour view with a nicely kept room. The owner Tuyen is very nice and helpful. He does try to push you into taking specific tours, but in the... More

It's nothing extra but if you get a room with sea view it's really worth it. Our room was big but no hot water. The owner organized everything we wanted but then he made us pay for a drink from the minibar which we did NOT have! Really angry and if it wasn't for the bus we had to catch... More

We were thrown out from this hotel, because we didn't buy the trips from the hotel manager. He also made the situation stressful by not allowing to pay up front and give back passports, but only in the morning after his "check". Rooms were not clean and the roof was leaking.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Good location, the hotel has private bancony, overlooking Catba harbour, WiFi, refrigerator, telephone, AC and fan. This place is one of the chosen sweeties of a very popular guide book, and it remains a reasonable choice, if only because the owner,Mr David speaks English quite well, and can be very helpful in sorting out tours, and activities while you’re on the island. However, we felt he was resting on his laurels a bit when it came to some minor house-keeping matters. Nothing too serious it’s just that — well…stained linens, even when clean, are always a little disconcerting. And, to be honest. But Tom’s a savvy guy, and he’s probably going to read this, so maybe he’ll do something about it by the time you visit. Recommended by the guide book Lonely Planet and ... more   less
