A real escape if ever there was one. A turtle sanctuary where we experienced turtles hatching and had the opportunity to help them scuttle to the ocean, this was a fantastic lesson for our three children...... Food here was amazing, the staff were second to none and the place itself, heaven on earth for us but a little rustic so may... More

While this is definitely a very romantic destination where you can get away from it all - we went as a family - my husband, myself and our 8 year old. We couldn't have had a better time! After a couple of days (we stayed a week) we asked our daughter if she wanted to go back to Puerto Vallarta... More

This is a difficult review to write because this place is such a great idea. After looking more carefully at all the reviews on here I should have paid more attention to the "poor and terrible" reviews. Let me start by saying that the staff was incredible and amazing. From the first time I made the booking they were attentive... More

It was an unusual choice of hotels for a business trip. We went with 12 people; 5 couples and 2 singles. We absolutely loved it. We were able to get a private room for small meetings. Everything about this place is great. It is relaxing, peaceful, comfortable, and accommodating. Everyone there went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic.... More

We absolutely loved this hotel full of charm and assisted by service as you would expect from a boutique hotel like this. Fantastic lodgings which make for a wonderfully relaxing experience. It is a somewhat out of the way being about 2 hours from puerto Vallarta but well worth the trek out. Would definitely revisit.

This is a true paradise where you lose touch with the humdrum of a busy life and are cocooned into a natural world of peace. I shall start with the rooms (Palafitos) . The lagoon rooms (cheapest) are set amid shrubbery and palm trees with lovely views of the lagoon and an explosion of bird life. They are very private,... More

Nature has provided this hotel with everything you could ever want, and the hotel has gone out of its way to preserve it in pristine condition. that having been said, the accommodation provided does not meet the standards one would expect. It's one thing to have artfully rusty taps, but when the bath fills with brown water that's quite another... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotelito Desconocido means “little unknown hotel.” And this sanctuary reserve and spa, hidden along Mexico’s perfectly pristine Costalegre, is an ecological wonderland of virgin beaches and blue lagoons—with the Sierra Madre Occidental as a stunning backdrop. Built to resemble an enchanting fishing village, the hotel consists of individual, thatched-roof palafitos, lit by candlelight and perched along the beach and lagoon, accessible via winding wooden walkways and boats. It’s a magical place to completely disconnect from the world and feel sequestered in sheer luxury, whether enjoying a seaside massage, dining on fresh seafood or horseback riding at the water’s edge. ... more   less
