We got rooms in Sveti Stjepan resort which is a bit more fashionable than hotel Mirna, which is only a minute away. First we had problems with getting in (they use cards, but the system doesn't work and not once did we have to stand in rain waiting for someone to let us in) and than there was nobody at... More

We were really, really disapointed. Nothing was good. We've expected a 3* hotel and service, and it was not even a 1+. The food was poor, working hours were bad and the service was the worst. Except Saša and maybe the male receptionist with glasses, the staff was unprofessional, slow and not nice or kind. The girl in coffe bar... More

I've stayed at Istarske toplice with my boyfriend for the weekend in January 2014. Because we wanted at least a 4 star room we stayed at Sveti Stefan, which is 2 min walk away from hotel Mirna, which is the main building at Istarske toplice. We were glad, that we decided that, because hotel Mirna was built somewhere in the... More

I would go to Istarske Toplice again. Having said that - do not expect much and you will be pleasanty surprised. It IS a health care institution first and foremost. It is not suitable for young people who expect entertainment to be provided on the spot. The settig is lovely, the excursion potential endless, and since there is really nothing... More

Stayed for one night, and would never go back. Everything seems to be pre 1970 (not the staff, which was nice). Beds was bad, air conditioning not working, internet only by the reception, funny smell and did I mention the swimming pool with radioactiv water (you should absolutely not stay in it for more than 30 minutes according to staff)..... If it wasn't for some of the staff and in part the wellness are, I would be tempted to deem this place the worst i've ever stayed in and i've stayed in a few. This place is obviously a medical destination for elderly Croatians and it really shouldn't be advertised as anything else. I decided to upgrade to the more... More

We've stayed in Istarske Toplice over a weekend in july and were a bit sorry not to have booked somewhere else. Istrian countryside is marvelous, with beautiful nature, stunning views and picturesque old villages. But the spa itself looks like it remained somewhere in the 70's. The old hotel building is said to have 3 stars but looks more like... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Istrian thermal resort is situated on the northwest part of the peninsula Istria in Croatia. It is 35 km distant from Poreč, 10 km from Buzet, only 40 km far from the Italian border and 10 km from the Slovenian border. The Istrian thermal resort is settled in the untouched nature outside the city where greenery, quiet and peace offer a particular atmosphere for your perfect repose. The Istrian thermal resort is placed at the foot of the very famous huge rock, 85 meters high, with the mineral spring Sveti Stjepan on the underside. This spring is well known for its hot water full of minerals (13 sorts).Such natural therapeutic properties of the water distinguish the Istrian thermal resort from other European thermal springs placing it at the third position of the European rank-list by the quality of water and therapeutic properties. The legend of Istarske TopliceThe spa resort of Istarske Toplice is located in the vicinity of Motovun Forest, beneath a vertical, 85-metre-high cliff, which is the tallest of its kind in Istria. On top of this cliff, the small church of St. Stephen was built in the 19th century on the site of an earlier church. The church can be reached along a narrow path that climbs steeply around the cliff. Once you arrive there, your effort will be rewarded with a magnificent view that stretches all the way down to the river. This cliff is the birthplace of one of the most beautiful legends of the local area. The legend says that once upon a time, an innocent girl was wrongly accused. In order to end her life and prove her innocence, the girl climbed up the steep cliff and, before throwing herself over the edge, made a wish that her innocence be proven by a source of healing water that would emerge from the spot where she fell…WATER AND FANGOThe uniqueness of the Istarske Toplice resort lies in the natural healing properties of its water, which has been known and used for treatments for centuries. ... more   less
