We stayed at this fantastic place last August. Perfect place to stay if you are in Edinburgh at that time, because both the Military Tattoo and the Edfringe Festival gathers huge crowds then, which affects availability and prices regarding hotels. The builing itself is worth a stay. Then add the great hospitality of the owner, Jill Hunter Gordon, who makes... More

We love hearty protein rich breakfasts, but after 2 weeks of the same type of food up and down the UK, we grew weary. But behold, we met up with Jill Hunter Gordon who wins the award of the best breakfast preparer in all the land. We would definitely return to this guest house for the food, the people, the... More

The house is beautiful. The room was spacious. The ensuite was modern. I got the best sleep ever on the comfortable bed. The woman (I can't remember her name) was welcoming. She loved answering all my questions about the house. I felt like a queen eating breakfast in the large dining room. When we ran into the husband of the... More

Comfortable bedroom and ensuite. Quiet area with a delightful garden - but we had no time to sit and relax. Breakfasts take place round a large dining room table. Trains a short walk away to go to Edinburgh or Glasgow.

My wife book this B&B for us and out two young kids for two nights. I'm delighted to say we all enjoyed our stay and the kids loved exploring the well kept gardens. Stay here if you like: real houses lived in by real people, can accept a few quirks, and don't suffer from OCD. Do not stay here if... More

This is a truly great location for visiting in and around Edinburgh Scotland we did not book long enough in this area. The host was just as attentive as needed and not overly pushy. The breakfast was excellent, ample, and refreshing. The host provided us with details of the area we could have missed without his help. Also the host... More

Stayed herewith another couple for a 2 day visit to the fringe at Edinburgh. It is a really lovely country house and run by a really pleasant couple, who were a great help for our stay. It is a quirky type of place, paintings every where and antique type items everywhere and very nice family photos scattered around, and very... More

This bed and breakfast is ideal if you bring your dog, lovely grounds to walk in and a small woodland walk just outside the boundary of the house. We had planned a trip to Edinburgh Zoo with a visit to the Royal Yacht Brittania the following day. On both days the weather was scorching, however, we were allowed to leave... More

We stayed here twice, either side of a week's holiday further north in Scotland. The prioprieter, Jill, was good enough to let us keep the house key since she was goin to be out on our return trip and was good enough to phone us on our journey to make sure we were OK. The two rooms we had were... More

My wife, teen-age daughter and I stayed here for three nights during a 9-day trip to Ireland, Wales and Scotland. This was the highlight. What can we say? Jill, the proprietor, was very, very friendly. It's a beautiful manor home in a suburb of Edinburgh. Well-kept gardens on a hill overlooking the valley. We stayed in a very large master... More
