I alongwith my family stayed in Mitali on 29& 30 March .... clean bath room.... beautifully nestled in the lap of the nature.... these are the only pleasant memories ......disappointing facts are many....food was awful! The food lacks variety. Lunch was just mediocre....both dinner and breakfast were supplied in very limited quantities. You get fed up with brinjal ( egg... More

I can say that the disappointment expressed by the reviewer that “the disappointing facts are many…”, (whatever they may be) over their family experience at Mitali Homestays for just one night’s stay, made this a very sad experience. The family hardly ventured outside the house, and did not appear to be interested at all in visiting Shantiniketan or delving into... More

What can I say.... I wish I knew as many superlatives as I wanted to write to describe our stay at Mitali Homestay!! Great food, wonderful ambience, personalised care and service, friendly staff, cozy homey rooms, and flowers, flowers, and greenery all around in the grounds! Krishno, our host, the much travelled man that he is, with his erudition and a... More

Having traversed the congested, cacophonous rutted streets of Bolpur and Shantiniketan, we felt instant tranquillity on entering the green compound with its colourful blooms all around us. Mr and Mrs Dey are the perfect old world couple who welcome their guests as friends. The rooms are what you'll probably find in a well lived in house - not picture perfect... More

This is the area of santinekitan... If one expects shiny mirrored oberoi like hotels, the destination is not for you. While much of the quiet and country atmosphere of Santinekitan has dissipated over time, it remains a lovely place. We arrived by car from Kolkata and pre arranged accommodations for driver. You want to consider transit needs since this isn't... More

Let me start off with a fact that if I had stayed there for 5 days I would've put on atleast 10 Kgs. Thank God that I came back. Sorry that I couldn't stay for 5 days. That lady is a magician. How does she know what you like is something awesome and am really puzzled. But who cares, each... More

We stayed at Metali Homestays during our recent visit to Santiniketan. We were a family group of 12 people; 8 of our group was from Kolkata and rest from overseas (Indian too). I have stayed in homestays in other countries but it was my first homestays in India. Mr Krishno Dey has reminded me of his 'homestays' few times before... More

I may have a slightly different view than what most of the travellers have mentioned. Could be an expectation mismatch. I had gone their with my in-laws and my family. There is absolutely no doubt that Mr Dey and Ms Sukanya has been great hosts and have tried their best to ensure that everyone feels at home. The location is... More

Let me start by agreeing with the general comment of "needs improvement", or in line with an earlier review, "but can improve", since we wish to strive continually for improvement through guest feedback. We are particularly sensitive to two areas of deficiency pointed out by some: "cleanliness" and "service" and we spend as much time as possible with our staff... More

We spent two days at Mitali from the 21st to the 23 rd December..one of the busiest time at shantiniketan considering poush mela starts by then. This vacation was planned much earlier by us and the booking happened long before in October. If you are in a deep desire to take a step back and relax..this place plays the catalyst... More

We just returned from Mitali Homestay after two night stay. It was truly wonderful ... great ambience, excellent food, warm hospitality and personal care makes the stay really memorable. The added attraction is large collection of books on various interesting topics. We thank Mr. Krishno Dey and Sukanya for creating such wonderful experience.
