I have used this hotel many times for friends, family and corporate outings. It has only 7 rooms, more a guest house than a hotel. Food is excellent, and spans both Indian, Bengali, and Indian Chinese (a splendid cuisine in itself).
I once rented the entire hotel to take my India team for a weekend on a corporate retreat.
I have also taken groups of friends / family there.
The hotel arranges for excellent Baul musicians to come and perform upon request. Bauls are folk singers in saffron robes who sing a specific form of Bengali folk music. Shantiniketan and surroundings are famous for these itinerant musicians.
For Rabindrasangeet aficionados, the hotel can also arrange performances upon request.
Things to do in and around Shantiniketan include visiting local Santhal (tribal) villages like Goalpara and Majhipara, or artisans in Sriniketan. Villages like Kamalakantapur offer beautiful landscape, and a quintessential rural Bengal feel...
