We stayed at Banshori during the Good Friday weekend (8-10 Apr 2015). It was a family trip with 2 yr old daughter and parents. The place has 7 rooms with inhouse dining hall. We had driven there and there is ample car parking space. They have a garden and lawn so one can walk about. Staff is homely and so... More

We visited Shantiniketan last December during Pousmela. As decided at the last time, we were unable to book any hotel online. So we contacted one agent (recommended by a friend), he told us about this hotel/lodge/guesthouse. He said this is excellent choice and he can book it for 11000/- INR for 3 nights. Already it is on the higher side... More

Very good location. A Nice little guest house with personal touch. The food who had (bengali cuisine) was excellent and tasty. Very courteous and genuine staff. But its a place to spend some time on your own, just like Shantiniketan itself. However I may suggest (critically) some face lifting of the rooms (nothing bad about them although) but just small... The location is ideal and closest to Visva-Bharati campus bang opposite” Kalor Dokan”. The manager and staffs are excellent and caring. Food is very good. Those who fell in love with Tagore and the culture spread by him should embrace this guest house. The house earlier belonged to Suprio Thakur, a former principal of Patha Bhavan and a descendant of... More

Good and easily accessible location, comfortable, overall clean, and good homely food, perfect setup/background for exploring the surroundings and pursuing one's interests. The prices are reasonable and the staff behavior is also quite cordial. Ample parking space is there, if needed. This is definitely a recommended place to stay in Shantiniketan, in my opinion.

I have used this hotel many times for friends, family and corporate outings. It has only 7 rooms, more a guest house than a hotel. Food is excellent, and spans both Indian, Bengali, and Indian Chinese (a splendid cuisine in itself). I once rented the entire hotel to take my India team for a weekend on a corporate retreat. I...
