The Cott Inn was my home base for 10 days while exploring the South Devon area. I had a beautiful room with king bed, furniture to unpack my bags, tea making service, nice bathroom, and windows overlooking the garden in front. I loved my little home away from home. Every detail was attended too; live orchids, bottles of still water,... More

A lovely old pub/restaurant that's a favourite with locals from the area. Was taken for Sunday lunch by my sister. The menu had a good selection of dishes, I had calamari to start and lovely roast beef for mains. The prices were reasonable and waiting staff friendly and efficient :)

This Inn is a really lovely place, ancient and modern perfectly blend here. The rooms are very clean and well equipped, light and airy; the staff are all so welcoming, friendly and efficient; the food is delicious with plenty of choice. No wonder The Cott is so busy. The stairs are rather steep up to the rooms but Anton is... More

Just popped in for dinner without a reservation, not a problem and was promptly shown to a table in the 'restaurant'. Another part of the pub. Classic, but nice quality pub food - I has the fish and chips and my partner had the duck. Nice crispy chips and well presented nosh. The pub is a beautiful, chocolate box cover... More

Visited The Cott Inn on the way to Totnes and Dartington. The building is lovely. Old thatched pub. Huge thatched roof with lovely flowers outside and a well thought out garden. We had to wait for it to open at 12. (We were a bit keen, or, had misjudged the time it took to get there!) The interior is well... More

On our last trip to England in June , my wife and I arrived at the Cott Inn on the afternoon of our first day after the overnite flight from the States and the train ride from London. Tired as one would expect, we rec'd a wholehearted welcome from Barney (I'm sure there's others that share his role on other... More

Charmingly old-fashioned, yet modern, stylish and welcoming. Plenty of smiling faces; young and old. It's family run. Wwelcomes kids and dogs, much of the staff are young and the food is delicious. This 700 year-old inn certainly delivers on rustic heritage and medieval charm. Great Sunday lunches.

This is a quintessential country pub. It is lovely. If you go to Dartington this is nearby and well worth visiting for a meal. They have pub food which is unusually good, Their steak pie is fantastic.

Went for lunch..Not planned just saw the sign. Lovely surprise. An old thatched Devon longhouse methinks set in a singularly uninspiring village. Once inside (avoiding the low beam on the doorway.. Which I failed to do... Twice..) though you enter a classic English pub atmosphere with a warm welcome from the staff. Good range of beers and the wine list... More

We spent three nights at The Cott Inn and from our experience we would not hesitate to recommend this establishment. From arrival to departure the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean, comfortable and equipped with everything a guest could need. We were very pleased with our dinners and there was nothing missing from... More
