We stayed here for 2 nights in August. The breakfast and restaurant meals were excellent, much better than your normal pub grub. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even in busy August they were very attentive. Just a couple of negatives: on our first morning the shower took at least 10-15 minutes of running the water to get hot... More

Stayed for two nights at The Cott Inn and thoroughly enjoyed both. Great place with great food, people and beer. Found it by chance for a last minute break and glad we did. Totally recommend booking tables early as it gets busy which just adds to the joy of the place. Accommodation is fine, but if you want big rooms... More

We ate here on the last night of our Devon holiday. What a pretty and atmospheric pub ! There was a little beer festival going on in the gardens which only added to the atmosphere as there were a lot of locals in the pub too. The menu was not huge but there was plenty of choice to suit us... More

Popped in for a late lunch on Saturday. We arrived too late to order hot food but could order sandwiches or ploughman's. The sandwiches were lovely and fresh with wonderful bread and tasty fillings. The pub is nice and cosy and has a really nice feel about it. Staff were very friendly and we had excellent service. We will be... More

We ate at the Cott Inn last night, a belated 90th birthday celebration for my Devonian aunt. We only had a main course but would love to return for a full-on meal-and-stay experience. The place oozes history and charm, enhanced by the friendly & efficient service and outstanding food. The gnocchi was better than any I have enjoyed in Italy!... More

My wife and I thought that we knew the area well until we stumbled upon this picture postcard thatched wonder of a pub. Surely the longest pub in the country? The welcome was warm and friendly, the service was swift and the chunky fish & the perfect chips were the best we have ever had anywhere in the country. My... More

The Cott Inn is the perfect picture postcard thatched Devon Inn. Our room was well equipped and cosy and the food in the restaurant was tasty and served by efficient and friendly staff. Music night on Sunday was professional, unintrusive and in keeping with the pubs atmosphere. Breakfast was also excellent with a good choice of dishes. A very pleasant... More
