Popped in for a late lunch on Saturday. We arrived too late to order hot food but could order sandwiches or ploughman's. The sandwiches were lovely and fresh with wonderful bread and tasty fillings. The pub is nice and cosy and has a really nice feel about it. Staff were very friendly and we had excellent service. We will be... More

We ate at the Cott Inn last night, a belated 90th birthday celebration for my Devonian aunt. We only had a main course but would love to return for a full-on meal-and-stay experience. The place oozes history and charm, enhanced by the friendly & efficient service and outstanding food. The gnocchi was better than any I have enjoyed in Italy!... More

My wife and I thought that we knew the area well until we stumbled upon this picture postcard thatched wonder of a pub. Surely the longest pub in the country? The welcome was warm and friendly, the service was swift and the chunky fish & the perfect chips were the best we have ever had anywhere in the country. My... More

The Cott Inn is the perfect picture postcard thatched Devon Inn. Our room was well equipped and cosy and the food in the restaurant was tasty and served by efficient and friendly staff. Music night on Sunday was professional, unintrusive and in keeping with the pubs atmosphere. Breakfast was also excellent with a good choice of dishes. A very pleasant... More

What a lovely place to find. A friendly and relaxed family run, very old (14th century) pub/restaurant/hotel. Very pleasant/food very good/service top end. Comfortable room. We would definitely find a reason to go again. Very good value for money as well.

Husband and myself stayed for 3 nights. Arriving on Sunday we found that our dinner table had actually been booked for lunch but staff put themselves out to find us a table and serve us quickly. The rooms are quite small but very comfortable. We did have problems with the hot water on the first morning but subsequently it seemed... More

We ate on a busy Friday night with visitors from the States. The food was simply delicious and the staff were their usual attentive and friendly selves. If you are looking for a quintessential English pub in Devon that serves top quality food, this is the place to go.

Having passed this historic inn several times over the years I was keen to stay during an overnight stay in Devon. The landlord gave us a warm welcome on arrival and showed us to the room. Newly decorated and immaculately clean the room was delightful. The floor was a bit uneven but added to the charm - it is after... More
