What to say about this superb venue. Characterful historic building, more than charming staff, and an original menu, not extracted from the freezer. Mind your head on the way in though! Home made cheesecake to die for, fresh fish from Brixham quay, and home made tartare sauce to go with it.

we went to the Cott Inn for Sunday lunch with some friends whilst down in devon for a long weekend. It is a lovely old thatched longhouse inn set on a hill which oozes character both inside and out. Personally we found the main roast dinners to be of pub standards-ok and good portions- but lacking some quality. The puddings... More

Went here twice for lunch while in England, the food was very good and was mainly locally sourced, which was a nice change, the service was good but the girls seemed to have other things are their minds, however I cannot complain that it was slow as it was not, and as I said the food was very good.

We went for Sunday lunch in September, with the children and grandparents. We ordered a variety of starters including Fried Brie, Mussels and Pate and followed with the Beef roast. All of it was delicious. Only complaint would be to bring additional gravy with meal. Would highly recommend.

Didn't stay in the bed and breakfast but the pub was lovely for an evening meal. The food was very good, especially the breads we had as starter. The wine was good and the staff absolutely fantastic. They were fully booked for the evening but we were told to arrive about 8.30 and should get a table, which we did.

We ate here recently and the food was really lovely, It was cooked perfectly and it was very tasty. Really good value, staff very pleasant as well. I cant comment on the rooms as I have never stayed here as we always stay in Torquay but I shall be sure to visit again for a meal when in the area.

Just had a lovely 3 night stay at the Cott Inn. Excellent facilities in the room, good size even with 3 of us in there "en famille". Spotlessly clean, high end linen decor and even toiletries a luxury these days as many try to cut costs. But best of all even with all this was just the best good old... More

The Cott Inn has a lot going for it.The building goes back seven centuries, the staff are welcoming and efficient, and the food is excellent.(I particularly enjoyed the white onion and parsley soup and the haunch of venison served with vegetables perfectly cooked and imaginatively presented.) Yet while many establishments combine the twin functions of village pub and country hotel quite effortlessly,... More

If you get there in the bright early morning before the car park fills up, the Cott presents as the ultimate picturesque English pub (indeed, it featured on ‘Come To Britain’ posters a decade ago). Initially, judging by the counter pumps, I thought that it served only a limited number of local beers; later, however, I noticed that the regulars... More

Best staff and food just a lovely relaxing atmosphere definitely the most attentive service that I have had in a pub setting they also now have an awesome beer garden which has opened up a large area with great views across the village
