Brought for a Monday and Tuesday by the in laws. Before the stay my wife was in touch with the hotel as we have a new baby and as a coeliac she has special dietary requirements. The staff on the phone were really helpful and when we arrived we had a travel cot in the room. The chef had also... More

I found a voucher for this beautiful hotel and was so glad I had booked as it was a hotel I would not usually consider. I had booked the luxury room...number 2 if I can remember correctly the Trawley Suite for my anniversary. The suite was better than I had expected and the large screen TV was a nice added... More

A short but enjoyable stay at this lovely hotel. We stayed for one night in room 50 which is in a converted stable block opposite the hotel. The roon was warm and spacious with a sitting area, the six foot bed was very comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. We had a lovely meal in the evening, the... More

We stayed here for four days, having pre-booked and having no way out. The bathroom is not at all up to what would be considered a North American or even decent European standard: the shower/tub has no tiled enclosure, so one is loath to spray the room. There was also a sloping ceiling over the bathtub, and this, combined with... More

I’ve been expecting this review…. • The guest booked a Standard Room. It states quite clearly on all 3rd party and my own website that Standard rooms do not have a full height shower. The room they were in is in the eaves with a sloping roof . There is no room for ashower. • The dining chairs are antique... More

Found a special voucher deal for this hotel and booked it straight away upon reading reviews, I can't say I was disappointed! The rooms were big and offered excellent value, i would especially recommend upgrading to the luxury room if you can. The staff were very friendly including the owner and the breakfasts were included in our price. Probably best... More

Stayed here on a voucher code deal. Happy with price. Food in evening and for breakfast was lovely, fresh, freshly cooked and very tasty. Serving staff lovely, very helpful, friendly and welcoming - couldn't fault service. HOWEVER - chose to upgrade to a 4 poster room and wished i hadn't bothered. Room smelt of damp from minute door was opened,... More

I’m glad Susie enjoyed the food, service and the deal. The Deal was actually, amazing. We still have a few of the £79 for 2 nights b&b available. • The radiators all have thermostatic valves and the heating is on 24/7. We do turn the heating down when the rooms are empty. • The extractor in the bathroom had failed... More

We stayed here for the weekend in October 2011. We were not disappointed. The staff were helpful and inviting. The rooms were spotless and the food was lovely. We would recommend to couples wanting a break away in a beautiful location.

We stayed here recently for 4 nights on the basis of good reviews by many others and, on the whole, we were not disappointed. We arrived a day earlier than expected (my fault, not the hotel) but this was not a problem and was very quickly sorted out without any fuss. Once in the room we had a small problem... More

Find me somewhere more relaxing, I defy you. Calm and serene without being stuffy. I felt totally at home there with my young family. Nothing was too much effort for the staff. Rooms were comfy, clean and spacious. Mealtimes were a pleasure, easy English comfort food in relaxing surroundings. A lounge-diner and a lovely little snug around the bar. Quick... More
