We arrived late on a Sunday afternoon without a booking and found this most unassuming hotel. Not having a booking we were prepared to compromise, but instead were so pleasantly surprised , we extended our stay. The staff were so helpful, hospitable and courteous without being intrusive. Even the cleaning staff 's courtesy added to the quiet dignity of the... more

We were disappointed with what we got for our money (and we have stayed in a wide range of accommodation from B&B, premier hotel to boutique hotels). It feels overpriced for the amenities/service. We stayed in a standard room which was very small and the en-suite facilities were too small for comfort. I thought the ensuite door was initially for... more

We’ve just spent our Weddingmoon at Mounthaven hotel. What a delight! A perfect wedding destination. Such a memorable romantic location of natural beauty and serene views. We stayed in the Double deluxe room with a lovely balcony overlooking St Michael’s Mount, which was very romantic. The hotel has a really luxurious look and feel to it. But at the same... more

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was fine and the restaurant very good. The chef was especially helpful with regard to my wife's food allergy. The standard of cooking was very high for a UK hotel. Try to stay in one of the larger sea view rooms, the others are OK but the view over the garden cannot... more

Well maintained hotel in good location with great views. Bedroom and shower room clean and comfortable. Relaxed atmosphere and very welcoming. Dinner and breakfast were very good, with everything freshly cooked and well presented. Service was a little haphazard - no one person taking charge. However, don't book patio room as it's next to stairs leading down to staff sections... more

We thought , after reading the hotel blurb ,that we were heading to a very special place of calm and relaxation , but oh no !! We were allocated room 5 on the ground floor , main corridor leading from the reception area. The route lead to the bar and restaurant so we had a constant tribe of people passing... more

The setting is the key to this hip, contemporary hotel-- it posses a view I'd rate as one of the most wondrous in Cornwall (and Cornwall is quite a wonder!). My soul was excited and calmed at the same time. Offered coffee or tea after a long drive acclimating to the left side of the road, ushered down a hallway... more
