After travelling across the Azores and staying at many smaller hotels the Caravelas Hotel is much nearer to a standard mainland hotel with large, airy rooms, aircon that works and a good sized bathroom. The breakfast options are very large including a "cook your own pancake" option which was a nice change from the more usual continental style breakfasts elsewhere.... More

We stayed there for 2 nights on our 10 days trip across Azores and this hotel was biggest disappointment from all accommodation we had...on front of our balcony was tied dog whole night which was barking constantly and stuff we're really unfriendly...there was massage option but once we tried to book it they told us we would have to travel... Good clean Hotel. Three star. Good breakfast. Clean and the only big hotel in Pico. Quite difficult to get late check out. Reservations must be made in Advance. Close to lots of restaurants and centre of Madalena. Ample parking place. Wifi in Lobby and connected wifi in rooms. Saua is expensive. Gym use on payment

We stayed 6 nights there the rooms were clean and large. The pool was nice, although we only used it once. Internet was awful, we could only get it in the front lobby and it was spotty most of the time. The front desk staff only had one person, so it took time if you needed anything. We had to... More

This is a decent hotel with good beds. The insight of the hotel is typically seventies style, old ugly brown furniture. The breakfast is very elaborate and good. The staff at the reception was not really friendly. Overall a decent hotel but do not expect luxury.

We stayed five nights at this Hotel. To make it very short, this location is what it is: Good enough. Everything starting from check and looking at the rooms and services are o.k. but nothing more. So if you just looking for a quiet overnight stay and do not plan to stay during the day there, then this is the... More

We arrived with a late ferry and instead of a nice welcome were asked to pay in advance (wow...). The room itself was quite nice, modern, comfortable and very clean. A small balcony is a pleasant surprise. The breakfast was quite good but busy and the staff did not manage to refill in peak times. Reception guys were cold at... More

Stayed for three nights, very good location, right opposite the ferry terminal. The rooms were o.k., but a little on the small side, hotel staff seemed o.k. Neither good or bad! The breakfast was very good, in the varied selection on offer. It does have parking, but seemed limited, so may be a problem at busy times, although there was... More

The staff at this hotel seemed to care very little - They were not helpful when looking for advise / info about Pico. Breakfast was basic. Room was of good size, clean. Wold recommend looking elsewhere if you want a more enjoyable experience on the island.

This unit has a perfect location; it is set in the very centre of Madalena village, next to most facilities and the harbour. The rooms are large and well equipped and the staff very pleasant. The only negative point is that the maintenance team needs to pull their fingers a little; our room's windows would not lock and the bathroom... More
