Personally, I had a room facing Pico, the volcano, with balcony, for four nights at the end of May and into June. A small group of us checked in and I wonder who the guests were who checked out - or are there just few cleaning staff - because we did not get the room keys until after 17.00.
Staying for a conference (using the town hall and brand-new extension to the primary school), this was an interesting location for so many delegates. However, I used a compression bag to carry my shirts and to try and look smart-ish needed to iron at least two for the conference... well, I got short shrift when asking for an iron at reception. 'No, we do not have an iron'. Amazing.
May be, for some reason, the staff are overwhelmed but I do not think so. Interestingly, there is a large extension under construction. I would think this will DOUBLE the number of rooms. The building works did not really interfere and I would think they are likely to be finished by August...
