We have just come back from a lovely stay in the Loire Valley in France, & our choice of Hotel (chambre d'hote) was brilliant. Le Manoir is a true Listed Building, the Bedroom was Fabulous, the owner , Mr & Mrs Deguingand, couldn't have been more helpful! Best place to stay.

The Manoir was originally part of a fifteenth century abbey. You walk to your room on the marble staircase that has been trod upon for centuries - just as you do when visiting the chateau of the Loire. We had an opportunity to stay in both family rooms. They were each unexpectedly large and beautifully furnished, with decor evoking the... More

We stayed in the cottage and loved every minute. Owners were lovely. Couldn't help us more. Pool to ourselves, which the children loved. Lots of castles in local area to visit. Little shopping village in Chinon. Cottage was very clean and equipped with everything you can think of. Lovely grounds for the children to play on. Own private courtyard. Will... More

We stayed here for two lovely nights in Aug 14. We would have loved to stay longer. The owners were really kind and helpful and the gite was perfect for us. My 6 year old daughter loved her 4 poster bed and still talks about it! There was nothing lacking - even dishwashing tablets/clingfilm/cleaning stuff etc was provided. The pool was... More

A place and a house of excellent quality. The host Thierry, is an enthusiastically and openminded person - and his wife also....we felt welcome and enjoyed our stay in a very good atmosphere. Absolutely n the same masterclass as the well run B & B at La Pillebourdiere in Oisly. We really enjoyed the great atmosphere - in all ways... More

We were welcomed by Thierry enthusiastically but the experience did not live up to the expectation. The room we occupied was sparse and there was no other room for relaxing. The lack of wifi in this day and age was disappointing. Thierry should look at his competition to see ways of improving his establishment. If he would like to see... More

I am writing this review late. My daughter and I stayed here last June 2011. I have visited France many, many times. I am from Louisiana and speak French. However, Sonia spoke beautiful English. If we could have stayed longer we would have. We only were able to stay one night. We went to eat in Chinon that night at... More

Hi Sonia, Ann and I wanted to thank you for a most special time staying in your lovely home. It was a truly unique experience and I only wish we could take the manor off your hands! I hope we can return one day and stay with you again. And as you already know, the surrounding region is absolutely magnificent.... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights in the room "Rabelais". I really enjoyed the great atmosphere the host is friendly and took us with other guests to a wine tasting at a small vineyard. This was a great experience and I can only recommend to ask for a wine tasting once you are there. The room offered us... More

We spent 3 nights in this lovely place and had a great experience. Our room was very spacious and comfortable in this amazing 13 century Abbey. Sonia, the owner as well as a travel agent, was a wonderful host and helped us a lot in our ventures around the region. Although the location is not in a main "Chateau" area,... More
