If you are looking for the perfect place to base a trip to the Yorkshire Dales this is it. A delightful old house with wonderful period features including solid wood floors and furniture. The family will make you very welcome. You will wake up facing most amazing view and there are plenty of walks from the front door.

Completely fell in love with this grand old house - it was a privilege to call it home for 3 nights. I loved it's authenticity and decor - lots of original features, William Morris wallpaper etc. The rooms are huge and the views over the moors are stunning with pheasants grazing on the front lawn. The hosts could not have... More

The staff were very easygoing and there was no curfew imposed. We had a great night's sleep in comfortable beds. We got a great welcome. The family room was very spacious with great views. I loved the wooden floors and furniture and

Stop over whilst cycling the Way of the Roses - very warm & friendly welcome. Nothing was too much trouble & helped out by booking the 8 of us us into a local pub for evening meal. I would certainly stop here again. PS breakfast wasn't bad too!

We stayed here for the opening weekend of the Grassington Festival - what a lovely place! A grand old house five minutes walk from the centre of Grassington. Beautiful wooden floors, impressive staircase, wonderful Mouseman furniture and views of the Dales scenery to die for. The owners were so welcoming and accommodating and went out of their way to make... More

Our family stayed in the huge family room when we visited Yorkshire for sailing at Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club. We were welcomed warmly and well looked after. It is a beautiful house with great views, easy to get to with lots of parking. Looking at other comments, we felt the few rules were well justified to help keep the house... More

What an interesting house and owner. Stayed with 2 friends in one of the very large rooms, which had fantastic views, plenty of space, and very comfortable beds. The owner, Margaret, was very accommodating and interesting to talk to. House has not been updated which only adds to the charm of the place. Well worth a stay (and reasonably priced... More

Stayed here in 2010 travelling alone with my two children. The owner was away at the time and the lady who runs the guest house cared for our every need with her family who were helping her. We stayed in the family room which was beautiful. Comments have been made about modernisation of the property however in comparison for myself... More

We stayed at Kirkfield for the last night of Grassington festival as a group of 40 something professional women away from our families for the weekend. We were greeted by the lady who owns the guest house and were charmed by the atmosphere of the house, indeed you do have to accept it for what it is as there is... More

Six of us stayed here recently while doing the coast to coast cycle ride and the stay caused mixed views from the party. The good; lovely grounds and setting, the aga was a God send as we were able to dry out very wet shoes and gloves ( Margaret even removed the newspaper for us when wet and rotated the... More
