Stayed for a couple of nights with a mature (well,by age) walking group. We were treated to great food, great beer and staff who really seemed to car that you enjoyed your stay. Breakfast was monumental. Evening meals were wholesome, well cooked and helped replace the calories used in walking. The Black Sheep and also the Grassington bitter were first... More

Came here for a meal with the in - laws and had a meal. From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left, they looked after us and the food was amazing. The food was outstanding - flavoured to perfection and presentation was spot on. The staff were friendly and welcoming and there was enough banter but not... More

went last night with a big group of friends for a party. Serving food for a group can be a considerable challenge as there is often a delay while everyone's order is brought out and the first ones often have their food cold because it all takes so long. Quality is sometimes also compromised. Not at the Black Horse though!... More

My Wife and I recently stayed in the Black Horse in Grassington from Oct 31 - Nov 3 2014 and found the place very pleasant. We were greeted by Matt, who made us feel very welcome as did all the staff. The rooms have recently been decorated and ours was spotless and clean. For breakfast you have to fill in... More

We had booked this hotel as a one night stopover in the Lake district. Having arrived early we were greeted by very pleasant staff and asked if we would like to go and have a drink in the bar and they would come and get us as soon as the room was ready. It was lunchtime so we decided to... More

lovely old building. Decor is a bit dated and I personally think theming the rooms is unnecessary but don't let that put you off. We stayed in room 14 with rooftop views. I heard a man saying he couldn't get the free wifi in his room (7) it worked fine in our room. When we arrived I popped my head... More

The staff were all chatty, charming and very helpful. Their sincere efforts to help us and make us feel at home was so refreshing, given Grassington is a big tourist spot and one can imagine those in the service industry would usually become quite jaded. We had a fine meal of pie, chips and a pint, then bed time. We'd... More

We stayed here after finding a deal online and was definitely worth the money! Lovely staff, room was a tad basic but we have a dog so was perfect for us! We settled for the evening by the fire, and chatted to the staff. Breakfast the next morning was brilliant and Grassington is a beautiful place, I am now on... More

19 of us arrived late on a Saturday lunchtime. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, the tables were quickly arranged so that we could all sit together and the food was lovely and excellent value for money!
