A very pleasant pub/hotel in the charming Yorkshire Dales village of Grassington. The room was fairly small but clean, pleasant, warm and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the cooked breakfast was delicious! The hotel is just off the main square which is very convenient although there is no hotel parking, so finding a space in the village... More

We stayed here when walking the Dales Way recently. A nervous moment on arrival as there was no record in the diary of our booking, thankfully the staff on duty found a room for us and confirmed the email correspondence of my booking. Our room (and en suite) was small but perfectly comfortable and we liked the view out of... More

Have just returned from a two night break at the Black Horse hotel and wouldn't hesitate in recommending it. Central location in the main square. Parking to unload cases etc can be a problem but the National Park centre car park and other smaller free spaces are only a couple of minutes walk away. Friendly staff, a pleasant bar and... More

Due to the central location parking was some distance away, National Park main car park cost 7.50 for 2 days. The hotel has stairs to all rooms, we were in 16 on tthe 2nd floor, the Art Deco room which was clean, if a little in need of a lick of paint. The bathroom was small but clean and tidy,... More

We stayed there for 3 nights in late Jan / early February and had a lovely time. Our little dog was made extremely welcome, and made friends with other dogs there during our stay. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, and there was a lot of choice. We ate our evening meals there 2 nights... More

Just returned from our first visit to Grassington after a 2 night stay at the Black Horse Hotel. Everyone at the hotel, were extremely helpful, pleasant whilst remaining professional. The hotel itself was full of charm and character, the food and service were excellent and we will definately be returning for another visit.

On an impulsive visit to the picturesque village, me and my partner popped in on the off chance they might of had a spare room and we are so glad we did. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and are happy to help with everything. Both breakfast and dinner definitely hit the right spot and filled it. We stayed in... More

Just returned from a winter warmer deal. There were 4 of us Fri-Sun. We were made very welcome and the staff were really friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The meal in the restaurant was excellent. There was a good choice of wines and local beer. The hotel bar had a great atmosphere with a nice mix of locals and... More

My husband and I called into the Black Horse last Sunday after a drive out in the dales. It was my first visit into this establishment after many years. We had a drink (good bar prices) and a look around. The place was spotlessly clean and the hotel tariff looked quite reasonable. We would definitely stay here when we return... More
