Stayed here after buying a groupon deal. The owner kindly extended the date so we could stay at a date to suit us. Lovely old hotel, beams everywhere..so homely. We stayed in the room with the four poster bed and it was just so pretty. Decor in bedroom nice, new bathroom with bath. Beautiful soft bed and duck feather quilt..slept... More

Just stayed for the weekend at the Black Horse with a party of 18 to celebrate a Golden Wedding , John the owner could not have been more helpful and did everything he could to make us all feel welcome and comfortable. As John has just taken on a new local chef the food was fantastic the steak cooked to... More

I booked this hotel after buying a Groupon voucher. When my husband and I arrived we were told that we had a twin room, which seemed fine given that we hadn't paid full price. However when we got into the room it was actually a dorm room with bunk beds. Not at all what we expected, the member of staff... More

Let me begin by saying that the 1st words uttered by my staff member were "I'm sorry". The next point is that the room is exactly as the rest i.e. fully en-suite, LCD Freeview tv, tea/coffee facilities, exclusive occupancy. Does that sound like a typical 'youth hostel'? However, we do provide rooms with bunks for cyclists and walkers. This is... More

We stayed here for one night as a groupon deal. There was an issue with trying to find somewhere to park but it was a Saturday afternoon and grassington is a tiny little village with limited parking. We managed to find a cheeky spot and later moved the car once spaces came available at shop closing times. The pub itself... More

We were given an xmas gift of a night, (including breakfast) at the Black Horse. It also presented me with an opportunity to carry out a little research at the nearby Yarnbury lodge and mines. Staff were only too keen to answer all my queries regarding this venture, using their smart phones and asking locals who were enjoying a beer... More

We stayed at the Black Horse over the valentines weekend, we booked via the internet which included breakfast and dinner on both nights, which we felt was a good deal. Upon arrival I asked about dinner to be told it was only included on one night, despite me phoning to confirm weeks before arrival. At this point, I felt let... More

So sorry to hear of your disappointment, entirely my fault in misunderstanding the question and (excuse an old codger and his memory) forgetting that, for the 1st time at Valentines, we'd put he extra meal into the deal. I think that, regretfully, pre-set your later comments and I apologise. All the other guests for the Valentine weekend were very complimentary. More

Sadly our stay was blighted somewhat by the calamitous check in. The desk wasnt aware we had booked a second night with a meal and wine inclusive until prompted, and even this didn't trigger our "welcoming glass of prossecco as was promised. When that did arrive it was warm! The art deco room was charming but cluttered, and the bathroom... More

I regret your feelings about us. True to say, my staff have been overwhelmed by the constant flow of groupon guests, and missed your extra 'upping' with it. I think you maybe did come to the wrong place, though. You have to be so unlucky to get so many things not right. Hope you didn't spend too much time looking... More
