Been visiting sonachan hotel for about 13 years now. Never been disappointed until a planned 3 night stay over Easter weekend. Room was fine but upon arrival was advised that hotel was under new management and that previous owner had allowed hotel to get in a "state". Went down for tea only to be told there were problems getting chef.... More

Had a one night stay, hotel is in a beautiful location. Room was very clean, staff were very polite, attentive and friendly. We were informed that the hotel is now under new management and an apology was offered for the limited menu and lack of working television. However, no apology was needed. Food was delicious and clearly home cooked, and... More

My partner and I have recently stayed at the Sonachan Hotel and had a really enjoyable stay. As I understand it the hotel has just been taken over and what a great place it is. The manager was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble for him, though a few more staff to help with taking orders could helped... More

My partner and I have just returned from staying in this hotel. Having never been to Ardnamurchan before, we chose this hotel based on the information provided on the hotels website and some great reviews on trip advisor. The hotel itself was basic but in a great location which was what we were looking for as this was a last... More

I am truly sorry that your experience was not all that it should be. This was my fault entirely due to my lack of experience of Easter in this area of the country. We were under staffed, mainly due to a lack of people looking for work here, there is pretty much full employment here. I am now in touch... More

The Sonachan is a relief to find as there really is nowhere else to eat for miles. They can capitalise on this and the stunning location. The guy who served us explained that they were just getting started again hence the limited menu. This may also have explained that the gents needed a spring clean and the outside area tidied... This place is perfectly located if you love nature and hiking. Helen, the owner, will make you feel right at home, as will the pet donkeys, sheep and dog. Truly beautiful place in one of the most amazing locations in Scotland

Seven of us stayed here for just the night, in October 2014. From arrival to departure, we were treated to some cracking Scottish hospitality - from the food, to making sure we were all comfortable, etc. I personally was in the bunkhouse - a lesser standard than the B&B itself, but you get what's on the tin; a very comfy... A great hotel as a base for a holiday in Ardnamurchan. Had a great holiday here with visits to Sanna Bay, Ardnamurchan lighthouse and a visit to Tobermory. The hotel is very comfortable with a lovely bar/restaurant and the food is always amazing. The staff are very friendly and helpful as is the owner. Thanks again

What an amazing find! My husband stumbled upon this place on the internet and I have to say it is a gem. Tucked away in the back of beyond it is a haven of tranquillity with a well stocked bar and food to feed a king! Beautiful, clean well appointed rooms with the added value of very fresh air and... I stayed in the hotel's bunkhouse after pulling in when I saw their signs saying B&B from £25. When I went in they said the bunkhouse, without breakfast, was £25, staying in the hotel would be £40+. I opted for the bunkhouse, even though that was quite steep for a bunkhouse. The bedroom was fine, sheets clean, and there was... More

Hi thanks for your review. I have just taken over the business and would like you to know that your points have been addressed. You may be interested to hear that the bunkhouse bed only is £15. With heating and hot water and no smell, though I suspect this was due to lack of use more than cleaning. Please come... More
